Do any of you give to Heifer International. We get the booklet showing who and what we can give to. It has so many stars in it's ads I think it's over kill.
It seems to be doing well, but I do wonder if the rules are enforced. The idea is
to give an animal and then the recipent give the offspring to another family and on
and on. I wish they would tell us how much good this is doing. What do you think?

I think that it is a good idea. I'm not sure if they follow up on the people. The way I understood is that it was a gift that keeps on giving. They train the people how to use the gifts and it helps them be self-sustaining. I think that it is a good way to help end hunger on a long term basis instead of just giving them some food. I think it is the whole "give a man a fish" thing. I have a registry through Heifer International at http://www.heifer.org/c.edJRKQNiFiG/b.488975/site/apps/ka/ec/store.asp?StoreId=10678

Just as an add-on. I don't make any profit from my registry through Heifer International. I just think it is easier for multiple people to donate through a single registry.
