Romantic movies are sometimes good, but honestly they pretty much follow the same script. Boy meets girl, boy and girl get mad at each other, and then boy and girl can't bear to be without one another. Actually, not that different than soap operas. When I was young, and would fantasize about falling in love -- it was the same script in my head. So, is this a reflection of how love is, or do these love dramas cause us to create dramatizations out of our love life?

YES
I am glad you raised this question! I believe that the media in total - films, tv, magazines, newspapers have deliberately undemrined relationships -
1) They show gorgeous men and women and reinforce the stereotype that you must have a gorgeous partner otherwise you will never be happy. These people do not exist in relaity and waiting for one is a disaster - besides since you are not beautiful they will not fancy you anyway and if they do so will everyone else want them so you will be insanely jealous - leave them alone and go for someone average!
2) Relationships are portrayed as disposable and easily replaced. This is disastrous - it is not true that the other mans grass is always greener - betetr the devil you know. Relationships are not like newspapers - good today and recycled tomorrow. They get better with time
3) Scrap the tv and ignore the hollywood movies and save yourself a fortune and avoid the brainwashing!
