I live in Hyderabad (India) and many of the persons who drives bikes, Auto rickshaws and cars, most of them won't follow the traffic rules. They may be in hurry, but they have to follow the rules. Rule is rule and rule for all. I saw some drivers who skips the red signal too. What do you think. Do you skip traffic rules. If you do, do you ever feel ashamed. If you don't, have you ever scolded them. I feel they are the only persons who creates the Traffic Jams in Hyderabad. What about your city.

I try my best to follow rules, but sometimes when I need to take the proper way I see if I can go the short cut way and if there's no police to give me a ticket then I risk it hehe. I think people break rules because it isn't enforced well enough. If the law enforcers are feared and respected than people will follow rules more. Of course, the rules have to reasonable too otherwise people will rebel.

Following the shortcut is not a braking of rule. Anyone can follow, if it was the right route. I think all the rules are reasonable and the same rules appiled to everywhere in India. When the prople in Bangalore, Pune and in many cities are following the rules, then what makes Hyderabad people to disobey these rules.

I don't drive but my son does when I go in his car or my partners car they drive as they should most people do in the UK but there are some that are reckless they don't signal and now and then you see people go through red lights but that is normally teenagers who do that...although in London drivers are quite bad, but I live in the country so it's different...littleowl

Yes, most of the teenagers won't follow the rules. If trafic department punish them, they won't repeat it again. But traffic department is busy in it's other activity. I saw some people go on the footpath when there is traffic jam. It makes difficult for walkers and more problamatic to other riders.

Driving on the roads in India looks really frightening, adihindu! We have very strict rules in Australia, and there are cameras set up to catch people speeding. We are fined for speeding, parking in the wrong place, parking for too long if the space only says 2 hours ... it's pretty strict. Bicycle couriers in the city really take their lives into their hands!

It was so good to hear. Very strict riles in Australia. So it would be a good place to live. But in India, even there are rules, no onw would follow them. We don't know when we got an accident. It was so horrible to walk/drive on the roads of Hyderabad.

Not following the rules in traffic can be a fast way to the hospital or the grave. I think most of our problems come because drivers are multitasking. In other words not paying attention.

Yes, not following traffic rules is the fast way to hospital. Every one knows it. But why they won't follow these rules. Thanks for your response.

What ever the hurry is, I am sure I won't break any rule. When I first moved to hyderabad, I returned my scooter to my home place because of this traffic violaters. Now I am using public transport system mainly MMTS. So I won't break any rule. Even when we are hurry, why do we really need to break them. It was the fast way to go to hospital and not to the destination. It was no more true and breaking rules are no more useful.

Traffic rules are easy to follow only if everybody want to follow. I have been in Europe for one month and I discover huge traffics for hours and hours of drive. Many people can not handle stressful driving and they tend to be upset with ease.

Europe countries are advanced countries and you have good roads too. But when it comes to Hyderabad, the roads are not good and it takes about 1 hr to travel for 10 km in peak times due to the traffic and the time may increased due to these traffic violaters.

Rules are rules.. And they have to be followed.. IN singapore, we have no choice but to follow, because at most traffic lights, a speed camera will be installed to catch those ple whom beat the red lights.. ANd when they are being caught on camera, they will be fined as well as demerit points for their licenses.. And if they do it again, their licenses will be suspended, or revoked or even be banned for driving ever again.. lol =D And i always like to compete with cars when it comes to traffic light.. Be it the green flashing man for me or red about to turn green, i will always make sure that, those speeding cars will stop upon seeing me.. lol =D Because if they happened to knock into me, they will end up in the police station for sure.. lol

One thing should be very clear in our minds that the traffic rules are not meant to give us trouble but they are for our safety and also for low and order. If every driver keep this in mind, then I do not think that following the traffic rules will be difficult atall. The problem most of the time is that people do not take the traffic rules seriously. They learn only when they suffer the lose. Instead of entring inot "no entry" road, we can surely afford to spend little more time to take a round and then take a "U" turn to enter through right way. I have not scolded anyone for not following the traffic rules. But I do try to explain the people that traffic rules are for our safety only. And so we must follow them.

You are great. But I scold them, those who not follows the traffic rules. Some peoples are getting their licenses with out having a proper knowledge in these rules. How many people here in hyderabad knows that they should stop their vehicle before the zebra crossing line when the signal is red which makes the walkers can cross the road. There is no one that know this rule in hyderabad. Then why should I haven't scold them. I may call them as Crazy People.

the traffic rules are so difficult to follow but they are for us and they for our safety but nowadays traffic police are so cunning that they are taking bribes for leaving the illegal vehicles and this should be eliminated.

First the people must change. How come they take bribes with out giving by someone. Corruption doesn't belongs to only the receiver, it belongs to provider too. Many of the people offer the bribe to them to escape from the fine which was higher than the bribe. If everyone ready to pay penalty, then there is no bribe. These traffic rules are for us. We have to follow even they are difficult. We should not disobey them. It leads to accidents and traffic jams. So don't feel that they are difficult. Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting.

Hi there adihindu Earlier this year I went to visit a friend who I hadn't seen on 15 years or so and had never visited her in her hometown as we met abroad. She took me sight-seeing to a city I had never been and I followed her in my car. I was so worried that I was going to lose her and get terribley lost that I did jump a few red lights and was really worried I was going to get a ticket from the police but luckily there were none about. I would never normally break the law but I really didn't want to get lost escpecially with my three children in the car in a strange city!

Who said traffic rules are difficult to follow. There has to be a will to follow them and a will to get them implemented too. The police are as lax as the public so how can things improve.

Yah, I do know them. If any one don'tknow these rules, their license will be refused. But here in hyderabad, so many of them are neglecting these rules and creating problems for others. And Traffic costables can't take their licence by some reasons.

I've never felt difficult to follow traffic rules difficult to follow. Even if somebody feels it is difficult they have no other choice other than following it because it involves lives. Even I have seen many such arrogant people doing clumsy things on the roads disobeying the rules just to draw everyones attention. Would get on my nerves when I see such people. Such people should be punsihed strictly. They put their and also others life at stake Cheers

They must punished but who can punish them. Traffic constable is busy in giving the signals. And there is no one who can punish them. I found some riders drive on footpath so as to pass the traffic jam which creates the problem for walkers too.

I stay in Mumbai and the traffic is like hell 24 / 7 here. I've seen people breaking rules so many times. When the signal is on, people dont even care to look at it.

I usually don't follow the traffic rules.... not only me no one will like to follow any rules... they are forced mentally by themselves or by others to follow those rules... All of us wants to live independently and freely.... right..???? when you are running..... if you have lot of barriers.....will you like to run.....????? And that the way....... if we do not obey the traffic rules, we may caught in accident...or we might be caught by the traffic police.... and finally results in paying fine for not obeying the traffic rules... When we are stopping in the signal.... how many of us will be happy...???? think......???? Certainly I won't be happy....??? That time I used to scold the traffic police with all the bad words I know..... just with in the mouth,.... if those words go beyond my mouth and reaches the police's ears... then I will have to pay fine for that also.... So, I prefer to obey traffic rules.... whether I like that or not...I obey thats all...
