I hear people say things like that and it makes me laugh. Does it mean that they usually fib all the time? What other funny expressions have you heard?

Make hay when the sun shines. I don't know too many people that cut hay in the rain, snow, sleet, fog, etc.

LOL I know what you mean. And... "to tell you the truth" - hehehehe - I even used them occasionally LOL It's pretty much like the " to be honest..." one wonders... is the person going to be honest only now ? But still I use them too:) I guess it's an habit and of course doesn't really mean anything in the end, but yes, it is funny :)

I never trust anyone who has to use that phrase. One that really annoys me is 'at this moment in time'. Firstly because by the time it's said the moment has gone and secondly because I want to ask what else there is a moment in.

There are many, and a lot are actually said with tongue-in-cheek. Peolpe usually say "it makes me laugh" when they are being crirical of something. One that amazes me is "that's awesome." This can mean very funny, or very scarey. Explain that?

I got a good laugh out of some of these. I hope you do to. Feel free to send in any favorites I missed. Well that just dills my pickle! That’s about as useful as a trap door on a canoe! You look about as happy as a tick on a fat dog. I’m finer than frog hair split four ways.

"You must be off your rocker." I know what it means but I still don't know how it came to be. So the rocker actually keeps a person sane?
