Recently I have come across information about a couple site where you shop online and you get a small percentage of your sale back, like 4% or something. Has anyone ever used one of these sites? Are the prices just higher to begin with? Do you really get the money back. I'm talking about sites like ebates and bigcrumbs.

Yes, I have done this- I am a member of Big crumbs. And this is all legit- they do not jack up prices. you just go to the site you are purchasing from THRU Bigcrumbs. so the site is exactly as it would be for everyone. and then your purchase is reported to bigcrumbs and you earn the % back (whatever it may be) they have specials that sometimes run for certain companies and you can earn a little more. I have seen some people who have ALOT of referrals actually earn over $1000 and even one guy over $3000 back (he is building a house with his big crumbs money (all without financing).
I don't have much in the way of referrals but I do go thru bigcrumbs when I shop. lol

Oh I didn't even know you could earn more through referrals. That's good too. I'm not very good at getting referrals, but maybe I'll tell my family to sign up before they do their Christmas shopping. Sounds like most of you have used Big Crumbs so maybe I'll try that one. Thanks!

I use bigcrumbs and yes you do get some money back. It just depends on how much you spend how much you get back. You have to make sure to go to bigcrumbs first though and then go to your shopping site I mostly do ebay but bigcrubms has always paid me. I have never heard of ebates before so couldn't tell you about that one.

Personally I use a site called EPromise that takes 1-3% of sales from certain sites or locations and puts them toward my outstanding school loans. The prices are NOT any higher because it installs a toolbar that verifies when you go to a site, so if you buy something from walmart.com, then you actually buy it from walmart.com, not through EPromise or some third party. Also, it works outside of online sites as it senses purchases made through my credit card (I entered that my credit card number into it), and even acknowledges certain products bought when using a Safeway/King Soopers club card. I can verify it works because in my first quarter I earned $45 (they pay out quarterly) and the very next month it went to my school loans and my payment was $45 cheaper. Right now I'm at $90 and expect that to go to my school loans next month. Also the nice thing is that if you don't have school loans you can use it to save up money for if you go to school or your child goes to school. Overall it's a nice program and I'm really happy with it. So do all of those programs work, like Ebates and Bigcrumbs? I'm not sure, because I've never tried them. But the one I'm using works, so I wouldn't rule it out.

Oh I think I've heard of this one. I think it's called Upromise though. I didn't know you could register your own credit card though. I thought you had to apply for their credit card to get it to count. I'll have to go check again, cuz if I can just use my own card and get it to count, that would be fantastic. Thanks.
