I'll do it now when I'm busy or I'll do it tomorrow when I have nothing to do

I can be very lazy when I feel like it. When I have all the time to myself, I tend to procrastinate more because I think not doing it for one day won't hurt. I'll do it tomorrow. Tomorrow comes and knowing I have the next day free again, I'll tell myself the same thing.
But now that I'm busier, I remember now that I tend to do even more things. I think that I will do it now because I may not get to later. I have a 30-minute window to clean the kitchen area so I'll do it right away because later I may be too tired.
Are you like me too?

Hey anne! You know now that your working I am understanding
you less and less. You are talking in circles or is it me
understanding in circles? I don't know but you sure are
confusing the hell out of me. Do you do it now or do you
put it off? I'm not sure what you're doing or what you're
trying to say. But, you're sure trying to test me tonight!
I'm glad that you're working! Is it starting to fry your
brain? What is it that you are doing? You never did say what
your job was. Or did I miss that discussion? I don' usually
miss any of your discussions since I don't have a job or
a life and I do procrastinate my life away. Just ask bf
who will be home any minute to ask me what I did today and
get really pissed off when he finds out that I didn't do
much of anything except go to my doctors appointment!
If you could hear him I'd let you listen. He doesn't yell,
but he sure gets annoyed!

Hello Opal. Forgive me if I have been less clearer nowadays. Maybe I am because I don't spend much time thinking about what I need to say, I just write it right away because I have only short time to be online. But maybe sometimes you are understanding in circles too. Heheh. Now that I'm busier, I tend to do more things. Like if I work a full day, I would add on some more chores to that because I think that I may not get to do these chores again for a while.
BUT when I have free days, I don't do anything. I just think that I'll do them the next day and so on.
Have you worked on your boxes yet?

Yes I am, at times. I do this especially after accomplishing a very busy schedule-- just some kind of giving myself a break that I tend to delay-dally on things (well of lesser importance at least). I made this to give myself a "small reward".

Well, I think yours is not really that big of a deal. Breaks in between a very busy schedule are good and recommended. Like you said, it is your reward for being so productive so far. Thanks, mjmlagat.

Yeppers, exactly like you. The busier I am the more things I get done, but in every case I have to tackle the big projects first and often the little projects get pushed aside...lol...until they become big projects. I really do plan ahead, but life is just so full of little things that have to be done. The ones that no matter how many times we do them, they still have to be done again are the ones I prefer to set aside for later--like washing the windows, dishes, laundry, floors...

I sometimes want to be lazy. Specially when I was still studying. I tend to do my homework later or tomorrow if I know I have nothing to do by tomorrow or I don't have that subject for tomorrow. Also when it comes to projects, most of the time I cram. I am a last minute person. But there are also times that I do things immediately. I don't think that, I have nothing to do for tomorrow. I try to keep myself busy so that I will change my attitude of being a lazy person.

I am also a last minute person a lot of times. I can be very good and work on a project gradually and submit it earlier than needed but there are also times when I think I still have a lot of time left that I don't do it until the very last minute. I tend to do a lot of cramming for midterms and endterm exams. I think most students are that way. Keep yourself busy, tikei but remember to give yourself some rest too every now and then.

I know what you mean there are a lot of times where we decide we want to be lazy and procrastinate and say we will do something later,or tomorrow, and then it never gets done,me and my fiance have procrastinated on doing something for a while because we did not want to do it,or because we had more important things to do,but I know what you mean, when we get really busy, and we only have a certain time frame to get something done,we are less likely to procrastinate about doing it,and just go ahead and do it so we can be done with it.

I don't think its because I'm lasy I think I am just burnt out and need a holiday, but even the thought of a holiday seems to much of an effort lol or maybe it's that once I finish work in the morning I am on the computer until it's time to go back to work in the afternoon, who wants to work all day been there done that ,so once I get on the computer the time just seems to dissapear until it's time to go back to work.

The computer is addiciting, isn't it? Especially more if you have the internet. I've spent a LOT of my time online, telling myself this would be the last half hour I would be on it... and then I add another half hour and on it goes.
Most times, when we get home from work, all we want to do is unwind and not do anything else. I don't think it's laziness. Thanks, moonbeam.

I know all about procrastination first hand.I had often wondered why I was this way. Then I started reading books on the zodiac, and discovered that people born under the sign of Scorpio are among the biggest procrastinators on Earth. You got that right I am a Scorpio.I can be bone lazy, putting things off for the tomorrow that never comes, but like yourself when I get started there is no stopping me.I really like your 30-minute window.I think that I will try it out.By the way are you perhaps a Scorpio.?

Take care!

Hi Anne,
I used to procrastinate also and oftentimes, work almost overnight when I am due or near the deadline back when I was working! Now, that I am just staying in the house, I tend to follow my routine each day and be consistent on it...I still put off things when I know that I will not be failing to do it when I need it! LOL!

Oh, school days! I was the student who can be very organized about projects as well as that one who waits until the last minute to write a 10-page paper. So do you have a routine checklist or something? Take care, checapricorn.

I get a lot more done when I have a lot to do. I make very efficient use of my time so that I fit more in. I prefer to save it up till there's a lot just because of that too. Therefore I procrastinate as long as I want, and then rip through my 'chores' all in one sitting. Thus I have a lot of time for sitting!
And yeah, washing the dishes while you're standing right there anyway, rather than later when you would rather be lounging and resting makes absolute good sense!

I'm enjoying my Sunday so far, I've been lounging and resting and sleeping. This week, I'll be working 7 days straight. 5 days for them at my job and two days for my mom's business. I thought it would be nice to just relax right now. I like your way of thinking. Do most of them now so you get to relax more later. Thanks, zig. I'll try to reply to every discussion as quickly as I can but I am really sluggish today.

The procrastinators motto "I'll do it tomorrow" The problem is tomorrow never comes. It is always today. It is never yesterday, it is never tomorrow.
I am very much like you. I am lazy, I hate housework, I DESPISE folding and putting away laundry. I can wash it all day long.. that doesn't bother me. But I pile it on the couch.
When I finally DO get around to folding... I find that it only takes ten minutes or less... so why in the hell can't I do it right then and there?? Because I am lazy and because I will do it tomorrow.
I am trying to be better at it though. Keeping in mind that things only take
F-O-R-E-V-E-R to accomplish when they are put off for another "today"

Sometimes I do like to fold clothes, it's the same as washing dishes. It just puts me in a trance. Not having to think of anything but I just have to feel like it. I know what you mean when you said it takes forever to do something that we keep putting off doing. When we moved in this house, it took me months to just even start organizing things in my room. Thanks, dizzblnd.

Yup I tend to procrastinate too especially if I really don't like what I'm doing. How I wish I could kick out this habit by finding something I really want to do.

Yes, it's a bad habit especially if it's a prolonged one. We all tend to drag our feet doing something that we don't really like. But like you, I am also finding ways to rid myself of this procrastination. Some days I still don't do anything. Most days though, I'm getting there. Thanks, magojordan.

procastination is a disease and it need to be dealt with by putting first things first you need to prioritise your self set standards and priority for you self you need to know what is urgent and what is important and go for what is important. because you may be busy with the urgent thing and it will not add any thing in your life so all you need to do is know what is very important. and you won't be busy for nothing.

Thanks, tessmom. But I don't think calling procrastination a disease would help in this case. It will only give people more reason to blame their choices on something innate which isn't really. Hmmm. I wonder if anyone will ever come up with a medication for procrastination or if such habit will really be diagnosed in the future.

Absolutely my line there!
I am a procrastinator when I can afford to be lazy and get sluggish. But, no one can stop me when I need to do stuffs. I will not retire till completion. And I will do it perfectly well. Coming to cleaning I am a freak and on Sundays I keep my house on toes. I would clean things like crazy and only stop when and if I think I have done it all. Nothing like plunging into white bed and indulging in chips and choc'lates with your notebook. Heavenly!
I guess, you have done your chores fine and well. Now sleeping. Have sweet dreams.

We do go to the extremes of both sides when this happens, no? Yes, my room would be very messy for a while but when I decide to clean it, the whole arrangement would be different, the drawers would be organized, all the paperwork put away, everything's just done right. But once I get on that bed and turn on that TV or computer, there's no turning back. I hope you enjoy your chocolates and chips. Thanks, mimpi!

When I'm busy I tend to try to do more stuff to. But if I'm telling myself, "I have plenty of time, I'll put this off until a less busy day." I sometimes wait until the last second to complete something, as I am unfortunately doing with the grant I must complete by Halloween.

It depends on my inspiration I guess. Maybe that is just an excuse for procrastinating Anyway, I'm going to get really busy next month and the next. As such I really need to learn to divide my time carefully. If not I will have less time for mylot I'm afraid. I'm doing my first freelance writing project and I'm so scared that I'm going to waste too much time mylotting that I don't have time for that real job. There are times when I can tick off many things on my list each day, but there are other times when I can;t even get one off my list. In a way, I'm like you. When you're busy, you have the energy to do more. But when your engine has not been oiled, it gets more difficult to start.

My parents always remind me to not wait for tomorrow when I can do it today. But I am lazy. I always tell myself that there are lots to tomorrows to come. Why should I be in hurry? I am not participating in a race. But sometimes I realize that this negative attitude of mine should be thrown away. I know that this is not good. I am trying myself now to not wait for tomorrow. Anyway this is for my own good. I am not that self-discipline but I will try.

For some people, doing things right away is no problem. For others, it takes a lot of self-prodding and pushing to get us there. Self-discipline is key. I didn't think of that so thank you for mentioning it. But we do have to at least try to get them done since if we don't and just hold off doing it, we can lose the opportunities that may have come along with doing that thing. Thanks, don.

I know exactly what you are talking about! I put things off all the time, specifically folding laundry and putting it away. So sometimes I will just feel lazy. But when I am busy and have a million things to do, I feel like I don't have enough time to get things done so I don't stop until there is nothing left.
I never really thought about it but it does sound kind of strange.....lol!

Folding laundry is one of those things. I try to fold them right away because like you, the pile would just stay on my bed, get moved to the floor and then I have to sort out the mess I made myself because I didn't fold them right away. Thanks, dustinnikki. Take care!

Nope, I am not like you. I do not procrastinate. I believe in finishing whatever that is in my hands as soon as possible. In fact, I try my best to finish things ahead of time. People call it perfectionist syndrome.
You should finish all your stuffs ASAP, this will create free time for you to spend doing nothing. Doesn't it bug you that you have things left undone? I go crazy thinking about it sometimes, I just can't wait to get them all done

It does bug me when I have things undone. Sometimes I go to bed not looking forward to the next day because I have to do what I didn't do today. And sometimes, you just have to let go of that schedule and not really care. There are some personalities that just have to get things done right away, there are also those who don't. Thanks, kenchihi.
