Associated Content Not Paying Upfront For College Papers Anymore

I just got an email from AC saying they are not paying upfront for college papers anymore. You can still submit for ppv, but no more upfront payments. Darn, I was counting on those payments to help out. It's not like people are going to look a lot at the college papers. I mean heck, I only have 483 views. Guess too many people submitted college papers for them to continue paying upfront. I hate to think there is another reason.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've never done that and have had a few now going upfront despite setting them up for non-exclusive. I thought for some reason they're accepting just about everything up for upfront payment. It could be that or something else. I cannot say. If you are wondering on that, I don't know if emailing them would help you out to better understand why they are not paying upfront for college papers.

If you are still getting up front payments for other things, I am less worried then. They probably just got overwhelmed with too many papers. Easier to just not offer payment anymore.

That probably could be it. Sometimes I guess when you get in a specific section, it gets to a point of resting on upfront offers or something. I guess it just depends on the circumstance. I think I got lucky on those ones but I'll gladly take it. Anything to make some more money.

They may not be paying upfront for the college papers because they may not get a lot of page views. I have noticed that I have gotten some up front payment denials becuase the topic is not searchable on the web.

The truth of the matter is that the longer AC is around the less likely they are going to pay upfront for articles. Their site is becoming larger and larger and finding unique topics is becoming harder and harder. I am hoping they switch over to a better PPV then they have now, since this is the site I make the least passively. That way it is worth putting up articles that they won't pay upfront for.

That's horrible. I didn't hear anything about that, but it was one of my selling points on trying to get friends to join the site. I have only sold a couple of my papers to them, then I had one that they wouldn't accept because it didn't have any references/works cited. It wasn't much money, but it still made me feel better about putting forth all of that effort to write a paper, especially when I knew that more people might read it than just my teacher.

They might just not have enough demand for it. You might wanna try submitting those papers elsewhere. Have you looked into getting up front payment elsewhere for college papers? I wouldn't give up on your college papers until exploring other alternatives.

You'd be surprised how many reads you get on college papers! About 90% of my AC content is college papers and I still think I do pretty well (some avg more than 400 PV per month on their own!) I published most of these before AC made the rule not to pay upfront for college papers, put I have submitted several since then as well, and don't regret it. One of them they even made an exception for, and paid me upfront, noting that it's no longer their policy, but the editors liked it. I say go for it - what else are you going to do with all those papers laying around? With all of those published, plus some other good articles, your clout level will rise and you could make more than you probably think. Good luck!
