Talula Does the Hula... that was a girls first name... apparently her parents were going to court over something, and it was discovered she had this name and hated it (she told all her friends to call her K) and the court is considering changing her name, plus many other childrens names where the parents were not really thinking about the childs future... like one kid was named violence? whats up with that? and there were a bunch of other crazy ones... My name is Faith, and I very much enjoy odd names :D

I would have to say my father in law. His name was also initial which stood for nothing, was not short for anything. His name was L.J. All is brothers and sisters had names, it is even on his birth certificate as L.J. I found that very weird.

One of our kids went to school with a guy by the name of Lemonjello. It was pronounced, La-mon-gelo. His brother's name was Orangejello. Yes, they were both named after a jello flavor. I thought these names were the strangest I've ever heard. Thought our daughter was kidding at first.

My father's name abbreviated was King Tut. A girl I went to high school had the name Mona Lisa. I ran an employment agency back in the day and one of the bosses had the name Richard Semen...think of the nickname for Richard that starts with a D...I know, gross! Finally we had a temporary worker whose legal first name was Precious. He was muscular and six feet 5 inches tall. That came in handy because people were afraid to tease him.

A few that I have heard of are Hee-sup, Nature, and Wee. Poor Wee got teased terribly in elementary school. Everyone, including myself, said things like wee-wee to him. Poor guy. Hopefully he wasn't too traumatized by that.

The one unusual name I can think of right at this moment is what Gwyneth Paltrow named her daughter--Apple. I don't know why, I just can't feature calling a person by the name of a fruit. Also, I think the name "Uma" is quite unusual. I've heard of people calling someone by 2 initials, like "JC" or "TJ", but I've never heard of calling someone, "E." That's a good one!
