I was looking through some family pictures and it suddenly hit me...my dearest memory of all: me,as a child,on one of those 3 wheels-bicycles heading toward the most beautiful summer sunset of all and my father walking patiently behind me with my colored chalk (which he bought me as a gift that day)in his enchanted pocket --a never-ending source of sweets and toys--...
And there is one more: lots of snow and both of my parents, coming to pick me up from kindergarten, with a sleigh...We used to take the long way home (strange how we always ended up meeting with my sisters on the road hehe),to enjoy both winter and family closure.
I wish I could go back to those days, when life was simple and days were covered only with laughter and nights came along with beautiful bedtime stories filled with magical creatures...
Feel free to time travel with me:)

My most cherished memory would be probably be the day that I gave birth to my son. Even though I was in labor for almost 24 hours, I still believe that was the best day of my life. Nothing compares in my life than the day my son entered the world. Although, my wedding day would be a really close second.

I think my most cherished memory growing up are those long talks I used to have with my father, he isn't with me any longer, and I really miss those talks. I remember my wedding day, and how nervous he was for me. It was all the little things he did that meant so much for me..

One of my most favorite memories is when I was about 12 years old. My sister was going to a small amusement park with a friend of hers and her parents. My brother was off with one of his friends, and mom was gone to work.
After my sister walked out the door, she walked back in and said....hey sis, do you want to go? I was so happy.
It was the other gals father's company picnic, so no one had to pay for me to get in. We rode all of the good rides! And afterwards, her parents took us to Pizza Hut, which was a real treat for me! I'll never forget that day.

That's such a lovely memory. And I know you smiled when you remembered it.That's what I wanted to achieve with this discussion : an honest smile to brighten up everyone's face, like my memory brightened up mine.Even if it is for just a couple of seconds,it's worth it,isn't it?
I wish you all the happiness in the world.

I have so many wonderful memories I don't think I can pick just one as a favorite. There was the time with my Mom on a campout with my friends in the park, playing hide and seek in the dark in the trees. Such fun. There were all those long walks with my grandmother down the road picking up pebbles. The time my grandfather taught me to drive the tractor, or the time my other grandfather taught me to play poker. Then there were the cold winter days spent with my dad in his work shop. The smell of sawdust still makes me think of him. I remember napping with the neighbor's cat on a sunny spot on our front porch. I remember walking thru the wheat fields holding my hands out and feeling the wheat brush my fingertips. And of course there was that wonderful day when I held my son for the very first time. And how years later I stood there and cried as I watched him in the hospital nursery, as he looked down at his first child.. and how she held his big finger in her little hand.
Life is full of memories, love and sunshine.

YOU CAN DRIVE A TRACTOR?!That's amazing!!I tried it once...but I guess it didn't went well...since my father took the wheel with a strange almost frightened smile on his face after almost 20 seconds lol.His exact words were "if you want to get your license someday..I will get you a car..but on one condition : I'm your accessory from the right seat, and I don't want to hear any 'buts' about it!!".I still don't have a car...and a license either :))

When I was younger we travled alot. One of my best memories was when we were traveling one summer. I was really depressed because my birthday was comming up and I wasnt going to be with any of my friends. Just my parents another family and my brother. I got so upset. We went into a restaurant on my birthday which i didnt want to. After we had our meal my mom got the waitress to bring me a piece of cake and they all sung happy birthday to me. I was embarrassed but it made me happy that they all thought of me.

Oh,I know the feeling!I never went to a restaurant for my birthday, but I always felt so embarrassed when my family stared to sing "happy birthday".They used to do that for almost 5 minutes!!!And that's a long time for someone who doesn't like to be in the spotlights :))
But you know what?I am glad and so grateful they did that!Life taught me (so far) that memories are the only things that stick to you,no matter what. You can carry them wherever you want, never feel alone even when surrounded by strangers and feel good about it.Family memories..ahh..they're the ones which should be the most cherished of all.Not everyone is that lucky to have beautiful family memories. And not everyone had a family..
SO...smile and remember : you can always embarrass your children lol! You're giving them a reason to smile one day also..*wink*
Thank you for sharing this one with me :)

That is a difficult question! I have lived in many different places and I think my most cherished memories are of all those places and the people I met there. Hobart and the Cashmores, Brisbane and Phoebe, Teresa or Irma, Santo Domingo and Alina and Ana Emilia, Lima and Vieri. Nice people and fond memories of them all!
