I used ot get up and do youga and exercises ofr an hour in the morning but i found that my weight was not going down. i am not particularly fat but still a small paunch was bugging me. I started going for a walk efvery morning at 5 AM. I take a 5 Km walk at a brisk pace. it is really refreshing and I feel i am beginning to lose weight.i come back and do 100 sit ups. Now i think my small paunch should disappear.
Do you go for a walk in the morning? Is it helpful?

No, I do not go for walks in the morning or at anytime. I think it wuld be a great idea if I go to the mall and walk around there for about 2 hrs or so. I'm glad that you are able to take that walk at 5am is sounds refreshing.

You need to make the effort to try it out and then you will realise how refreshing it really is. Just give it a try.

I envy you, because I find no time walking in the morning, but I do walk at the evening or on weekends with my cousin. I believe that walking helps in reducing weight or toning one's muscles.

No i dont.. because i wake up almost noon already!hehehe i love walking but since i cant wake up early, prefer to do it in the late afternoons. That way, the sun is not that hot anymore..:) I have not done brisk walking for sometime now though. I have been busy with work and with my money making sites!:) but guess i will be doing some tomorrow. i will include it in my itinerary since i will have no work then!:)

Hello, mercuryman!
I do not go for a walk early in the morning. Usually, I have school, so I have to walk ten minutes to get there. It's not far, and I don't think it's an exercise. I don't like to do morning walks, probably because I have never done them... But waking up soon to walk for me sounds boring. If it was at some time like 8 in the morning, then I would accept it... But 5? That's way too soon!
I do exercise everyday, naturally... I run a lot, so I guess that counts. I am always walking, and I stand up most of the time. I am constantly using my strenght to carry desks in the school or to lift something, or even to climb into something. This means I don't think I'll get fat for lack of exercising.
I am glad that is makes you feel refreshed. It shows that what you are doing is really healthy and pleasant at the same time. It must feel nice to do something like that. Perhaps working out in an academy might make me feel the same, but I don't like the idea of getting those huge muscles. I would like to have my body in shape, though.
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

Yes I do go for a walk early in the morning, but unfortunately not by choice, I have to as I have the children to take to school! It takes us about 15 minutes and then the same home. I find that when I am walking up and down to school, my weight is manageable, and I can lose weight or keep it off. However when the kids are off school I find that I put weight on, so then I have to find something else to do to keep the weight off.

Walking is really a great exercise and makes you really lost weight plus eating fruits. I have been planning to take a walk every early in the morning though never did that! I hate waking up too early in the morning. But I really would love to do that. They said, walking in the afternoon is good too!

I use to and haven't done it in a long while. I need to get back into walking since I've gained a few pounds (well a lot LOL). I loved walking in the mornings - I need to get motivated again.

I usually walk before I can ride a vehicle going to my office. It is already in my daily routine (every weekdays). I now cannot say it is an exercise because I do it almost everyday. But exercise is no problem with me. I am used to do familiar household chores. I also have time to play sports with my friends. I enjoy playing Frisbee and badminton during weekends.

I dont wake up early to exercise but during the afternoon after im done with all the chores. My husband and i jog for 45 mins and it really helps a lot to maintain my weight. For now i stop running since im 3 months pregnant. But as soon as i give birth i will start doing the same routine. It burns more fat and i feel good after the exercise.

I did some kind of workout for literally 25 years, until a back problem forced me into surgery. I continued to work out after the first surgery but couldn't continue when the hardware broke. I now have a neurotic Labrador Retriever with severe separation anxiety who forces me to walk - Cesar Milan is so right about walking your dog. After exactly ten days, she stopped digging herself out of the yard and I still don't know how she was opening the gate, but she stopped that too!
Bellydance has also helped, and due to years of yoga I have not lost flexibility even though I only do ten percent of what I used to do. My goal is to get back into it 100 percent eventually. I am 52 and still more flexible than some 20 year olds in my kids' age group!
Yes, it does help. Keep it up. Any time works - it's hot most of the year where I live and I enjoy walking late at night as well. It's often too hot to walk the dog during the day anyway.

I myself do not go for morning walks. However, my parents on the other hand do go for morning walks every weekday. They will take their early mornings to go walk/jog around the neighborhood, then they will go do some stretching at the nearby park, continue with the walk/jog and return home. I have seen my father growing some muscles in his abdomen. And they really have a good work out. Walks are definitely good because it involves the movement of the whole body, from the legs, to the arms and abdomen.
On the plus side, you get to breathe in some fresh air, appreciate the great scenery around the place and also socialize with other people who take morning walks. :)

I have a hard time waking up early just to exercise. For one, I wake up around 10 am already so the sun will be up when I'm ready to go out for a walk. Another thing is that I feel so sluggish in the morning that exercise just doesn't work for me haha. I wish I had the same discipline as you do though. That would be great for my diet and health as well...

Hi, I usually don't take walk unless that I have to go somewhere, for instance, I walk about 1 Km every day between going from home to the bus stop, them from work to the restaurant and from the restaurant to the work and back from the bus stop to home.. but my weight is not decreasing..

My walks would be the times I walk my dog. I try to walk my dog as early as I can in the mornings, because I know as soon as I'm up, he's going to need to go. Since I hit my 3rd trimester, sometimes I am not able to. I'm so tired in the mornings, and my body aches. And sometimes, I just don't have the energy to do much, which is frustrating. And, we live upstairs too. and for some reason, my dog cannot go up or down the stairs on his own. I really think that he chooses not too. So, I have to carry him down and up. That itself is really not too bad, he's a Toy poodle, so he's very light. But I have to bend over to pick him upo or put him down. That is very tiring and is very uncomfortable to my abdomen area. But I do enjoy walking him despite everything. It's good for him, and good for me too.
