during the first few days that i joined, i made a mistake of starting any new discussion on whatever that came into my mind, and as i go about the different discussions, i found out that it's kinda duplications. I felt bad about that! now, whenever there's anything that came into my mind that i would like to hear the views from myLot members, i will search first to see whether is there any similar discussion, if not, then i will start it. Welcome to myLot! Happy myLoting

Thanks, i hadn't even considered that! i wouldn't want to draw attention away from other people topics. and it wouldn't help me out much anyway to write about something 10 other people had already started a discusson about. thanks again !

Guess what flower is this? - Photographed at Floral show at Mysore, India
Instead of asking How are you, where are you, what is the climate, your zodiac sign, time over there, birthday, you better think of discussions based on problems affecting human beings at large, personality development, career guidance, money earning etc. which by and large will attract everyone.

n,actually when i have nothing to say i don't post at all..and there are days when a good idea comes to my mind and i post it..instead of posting uninteresting and stupid discussions i rather respond to others...what's the point in asking how are you or drop by and say hello??and i give you the same advise...if you have nothing to say then don't say it

I guess it depends of the quality of the topics you want to post. As you've probably seen already, some topics are not very good, or not really topics at all! A lot of people also post topics which already have been posted, so it's good to do a search before you post. Other than that...it's kind of fickle on which topics fly and which ones crash. I personally don't start many topics, I prefer to reply to others' topics. Just spend some time familiarising yourself with myLot and you'll kind of get the hang of it. But good luck on your future postings!

thanks again for taking some time to comment! i have noticed that there are some topics that really appear to have been written without much thought or consideration to them. i think already after only 15 post i am learning to be a better conversationalist though, so i guess even if we don't make a fortune atleast theres a redeaming quality.

don't you think it is always better to give responses to existing discussion topics then to open and wait for others reply, i personally feel that mylot should restrict the new discussion creation to specific limit, that is, one person can open some specific amount of topics only, so people will be aware to make quality discussion topics . i saw many persons have started more topics than they have responded to others. SO IT WOULD BE BETTER TO SEARCH FOR RELATED TOPIC AND RESPOND TO THEM, what do you think... there are may topics currently running (for each subject) just try to find them .. you will earn better and learn better. when i was a new user , i started few discussions on my favorite subjects, now i can add my thoughts as comments only, i have many things to share in those topics but i wont get money for my ASSAY types comments to , as those topics are started by myself, so now i feel if those topics are started by some other person , how much good amount i would have earned, as you might be knowing that there is an algorithm in mylot to test the quality, so WAIT FOR THE TOPIC AND RESPOND THERE YOU WILL EARN MORE. lol
