Do you point out an error of a user here?

WE all have blunders here in mylot and I do have some, and a lot actually, from typographical error to all sorts of things. I encountered some while I answer response from my discussion and it was like the response lack a word in it, it was like..the user is saying I am not like this, instead the user typed in I am like this.missing the word not. I fully understand what the user is saying and that it really means no, and I did not correct it.
I wonder does some people here take time in correcting those kind of mistake?
I know it is no use to correct typo errors but with this kind of error where you almost alter the idea you are talking about..
Ok like this one.
If the discussion : do you fell hungry when 12 strikes?
and a user answer:
I feel hungry when the clock strike twelve, I don't eat exactly at twelve I feel hungry when I don't eat.

well they really mean to say that they don't feel hungry, but missed on the word don't
will you correct it and say that the statement is contradicting or will you just pass it on since you understood what the user is saying?

As for me, I just let it pass..

I just let it pass... if the message is correctly interpreted, then grammar doesn't really matter that much (unless there's someone trying to learn English off the message :/).
I try not to make mistakes, but sometimes I do end up sending in a response that is missing a word, or has a typo. If someone wants to correct my message, they should feel free to do so. The only thing is that it probably wouldn't really help since I often find the errors myself right after the comment is sent. If I see that I have made a large error (missed a critical word, for example) I'll add a comment to my own response when I see it. If it's just a typo or something small, I'll just leave it.

No, I am not correcting the errors of others in their discussions because I have mine too. I will just try to understand what they meant but if I can't really get their idea because of too much errors, I will not response to it. I will skip it rather than be upset and insult them.. I understand that mylot is a diverse community so, we can not expect that all people here know how to speak or write perfect English. Even the English speaking people have lots of errors how much for those who just speak English as second language? I don't mind it. Just forgive them.

spellings, grammar and of the same sort is not a problem to me at all unless it affects the point or the purpose of the discussion then i would ask for clarifications but it would be a different story when someone would give informations that has no truthful basis or no valid evidence of it's existence. i guess you know what i'm saying.

Any error that i see here in mylot, do not correct it. Although i have an urge to correct the person so that he or she also learns her in mylot but i feel that i will hurt someones sentiments if i correct them! So i try not to correct them, wether it is spelling mistake, gramatical error or something else. I too let is pass like you do.

i let it pass.life is too short.
sometimes it's only cause someone typed too fast,or english isn't their first language.most of the time i can still figure out what they're trying to say,if not i just don't answer it.

If I do understand what the member is saying, I'll let it pass. I am not a grammar police so no point in me going around trying to correct people's grammar. It's not as if I am perfect. Even if I am, I do not think I have the right to correct others. If I do not understand what the member is saying, I may ask the person if '...'

hi pehpot When i see the meaning and understand whatthe
poster was really intendingto say, I do not correct them."
I saw a snippy response to this poster who said I like frozen vegetables more than frozen vegetables, when she meant I like frozen vegetables more than canned vegetables. well the restof her discussion had to do with frozen veggies being better for one than canned. this snippy response simply repeated her error sentence and put a ? mark at the end. that irked me so I said to him, you must know she meant to say she liked frozen vegetables more than she liked canned, so give her a break, she just typed the wrong word. I felt this sniper was being unkind to the poster as he must have understood where she made her error. we dont need to be unkind to each other.

Too many times, I forget to proof-read my own posts.
I speak and write English but often forget that some don't
or are just learning to write in English.
Often I forget the way we use our words and how hard it
is for someone learning our language.
I hope I haven't said anything wrong to anyone over anything.
It's Finally Friday!

Hi pehpot, there is no use to be picky and try to correct
a user when we are pretty sure that it is a typo error.
Sometimes it is a typo or it is a language problem and
I feel badly and don't like to correct someone because
I might hurt their feelings. You made some typos in
your discussion about typos! You kept typing the word
fell instead of feel. So you see how easy it is to
make an error even when you are talking about making
errors. So I try like you do to look the other way and
I was just pointing it out to you just because of the
discussion. If you had made that error in a discussion,
I would never have pointed it out because I know what you
were trying to say. I feel that sometimes people are
just trying to be mean and I don't mean you or I because
we think about the feelings of others first. But not everyone
does. I think that we should try to be more understanding to
other mylotters and not be so quick to pick!

as i said in one of my early posts here if someone took offence to grammar and punctuation on any post i made i would hunt them down on every post they had made on the site and use full grammer against them.those who do not speak the queens english as a first language should not be held up for ridicule.ffs if we did that how many americans could post.when they use a Z instead of an S or forget that in for eg the word color is spelt colour.so forget all typos and just enjoy posting

I actually dont correct typo error as long as i can understand what the person is trying to say. Sometimes when your reading a sentence and some words are missing all you need to do is read it and you will understand the whole content. There are people who dont speak english fluently and some words are missing.Unless the whole content is hard to understand then perhaps i might asked what the person is trying to say just to clear things up.

No, I do not correct them. Lord knows I have my share of them. I proof my postings prior to submitting them and sometimes I catch a lot of them and sometimes I notice it after I have posted it. The sad part about it is that if you catch it after you post you can not change it. So, no I do not correct them because I do not want the person to feel bad.

I'm guilty of such errors too.. lol =D But luckily, most of the time, the starters of those discussions will correct me if they still wanna continue commenting on the whole discussions ^_^
If not, they will just let it pass ^_^ But it's not the same case for me, if i were to spot any errors like that, i will definitely let it pass regardless i get the real meaning or not.. lol

Oh I do have a lot of errors here, in fact I sometimes feel so embarrassed as I see errors in what I posted (ha!ha!ha!). I therefore don't have the right to point out the errors of others. I should rather see first my errors before pointing on the others. In fact when I see errors on others discussion, I don't even mind because I know those are unavoidable. I just let it pass because I know the poster did not notice it before submitting.
