Setting up a network

Can anyone help me with this please?
I have a vonage router at home, the one with the VoIP service. So, my current network set up is like this:
computer - vonage adapter
vonage adapter - DSL modem
But now, i would like to build a wireless network. I just bought a wireless router and i don;t know how to integrate it in my current setup. Where should i connect it?

Can you buy another small router or switch? Like the 8 port router. Then, connect all the devices to the router. I guess your problem will be solved.

Will that not affect the speed of my connection? I was thinking that if there are so many devices connected to the network, won't it make it slower?
