hi! i have an acer laptop which is already 3 years old and still in good condition.. although the battery life has dramatically reduced to a mere 1 hour use.. one good way to take care of your laptop is to avoid dropping it, and care when traveling- always use a padded bag.. also try to maintain the battery by draining it at least once a month.. this is because batteries are electrons and it has to move, by draining it once in a while it can achieve this.. also maintain your hard drive by periodically defragmenting it at least once a week.. and try verifying the disks for physical errors... to avoid overheating always make sre that the vent holes are not blocked when you use it, especially at bed when the pillows can easily cover the vent areas...
