What is better, Starting Discussion or Responding to Discussions?

Depends on how open discussion. If you start good discussions, which other users respond and do well, then it is much better to start new discussions. But it's important to do both. Subjects for new discussions are exhaustible...

I like starting a discussion, that way, I can get to see how others feel about topics that I have always wanted an answer to.. I like responding to discussions, because it gives me a chance to express myself, freely.. I like them both!

I enjoy responding to discussions. Though I do start a lot of discussions too. And I get quite a lot of responses so enjoy reading them.

starting a discussion has it's own advantage in some point. the more you get a response in it the more and better is your earnings in that discussion and that is a big help without you doing anything at all after the discussion is posted. the downside is that, will you be able to attract responders on it? so you won't earn if you don't have any response. and on the other side responding is a sure win situation for you as long as you follow the guidelines. so the more you post quality response the more you earn in that way.

For me reponsding the discussion is better too. I can make a lot of response but to start a new discussion is very hard to me. I usually start 1 or 2 discussion for the most. But in making a response, I can post around 30. Keep post happy myLotting...

For me,it's better to start a discussions when it's interested one which you can attract lots of responses and it helps your earning increase when you got more than 20 respondents but that means you need to think a quality discussions. About the responding to discussions, that much easier to do, coz all you need to do is to response, post your idea and comment and your experiences. Happy posting.

Regardless, is not a question of what's better here. Getting over the money issue, since this is an international community, we can benefit from myLot. Thus, when you have something to share or ask, you can start a discussion. When you find something already started and you want to share from your experience or simply state your point of view, you can respond to that discussion. In terms of money, as long as the response is a qualitative one, or the discussion you started is somehow intriguing, it's all for the best. As for me, i also prefer to respond to discussions ("no responses" being my favourite category). Happy posting here on myLot.

For me, I would rather just respond to discussions..

It depends on yourself, really. If you're a person who always have a lot of good ideas for discussions, maybe starting discussions would be best for you. I think I'm both a hybrid. Through responding to discussions, sometimes I may hit upon something that I want to discuss. So I guess it works both ways. Some people can start very interesting discussions which will get a lot of responses. I don't think I'm very creative, so I prefer responding to discussions actually. Happy mylotting to you!

I prefer to respond to discussions more than create them as I find it easier to do this and many a day I wonder what to start a discussion on. Sometimes I get a really strong urge to find out other peoples opinions so then i'll start a discussion but right at this present moment I like to respond.
