Suppose: You were a crippled father of a boy. How would you feel when you noticed your son felt embarrassed to be seen with you?

I would be sad because my boy could not be proud of me. I guess, that would make me feel bad about me but I can not blame my kid, much as I want him to understand my situation, perhaps he is not just ready or mature yet to accept me that I have been crippled.
I would not force my kid. But I would definitely be hurt but I would not show that to him.

I am a teacher. I and my students are learning a lesson called "A good heart to lean on". In the lesson, the father is crippled and the son is normal. The son feels embarrassed to be seen with his father. But if his father notices it, he never lets on. A great courage to subject to such shame and embarrassment.
