I've never understood the phenomenon of chitterlings, the smell, the texture, where they come from, ughh, disgusting!!! How can people eat that stuff? Then have the nerve to say, "it depends on how u clean and prepare it"! Look, it's a sh.t canal! I'm not sure cleaning them any better than cleaning kidneys are gona make that big of a difference! If your house smells like a bathroom after dumping while it's cooking, that should spoil your appetite right then! But, hey, who am I to judge? Still, yall disgusting...LOL! Taripre$

I have ate these before. But, I don't eat them regularly. The last time that I had them was about 12 years ago... This is something that I hardly eat. My sister loves cooking gizzards. They smell so good, but I will not eat this. They say that Turkey Wings, Neck Bones, Ham Hock and Turkey necks are not good for you. I see many people eating this.

Ur good, I can't even attempt to try, I might do like I said in one of your discussions, vomit! The smell, the look, the knowing, nah I'll pass up the whole kitchen area Turkey Wings, Ham hocks(in greens though), and maybe smoked Turkey Necks in greens or something, but no gizzards!! Taripre$

I know what you mean. My grandfather was born in the US but was raised in Italy and he used to cook some really weird things, like tripe (cow stomach). The smell was about enough to knock you over! I think broccoli had a pretty bad smell, but it sure is good with cheese sauce! I guess it all depends on where and how you were raised and what foods you were fed growing up. I grew up in NY but have lived in the south for almost 20 years. Southerners eat some foods that I had never heard of growing up or would never have thought of eating. Grits, collard greens, black-eyed peas, catfish. Some are pretty good, some I just don't like. I mean who would have thought of eating a nasty bottom feeder like catfish? I tried it but just don't care for the taste.

Yeah, I guess so. We never ate that type of crap when in my household! My grandparents ate it, but guess my moms didn't like it so she never cooked it. As far as catfish, nope, it is disgustin! Guess it's ok with hot sauce, practically marinated in hot sauce though Tastes like powdered meat, if that makes sense! Powder meat and bones, ughn, no Cow stomach, hog head cheese, tongue, all that they can keep!!!! Taripre$
