Do you create ur user id for identity or just for fun?

hello all..i have seen many people here who just put funky words in their user id and do not disclose there name...do u put it for identity or just for fun? I have my name as my id n i think tht id should be the real names so tht we can make our own identity..wht do u think?

Your point is correct as you told we can identify there identity if they create there id by there name so many times we wouldn't know with whom we are chatting some time we land up by our friends itself and some do it for fun as you say but some will do it as they does not want to show there identity and they have to keep it secret. It all depends on there mindset.

I never use my real name online. I only disclose it to my closest friends. I try to build a reputation online with the username I create. I use the same username though whenever I sign up for a new program so that my friends (whom I met just over the internet) online would easily recognize me in case we bump into each other.

It depends on the site. For myspace and things like that I usually use something name oriented. For other sites I try to just make something up.

I have my original name on my identity, that is "arun" and mails in the sense, I, the arun, "mails". so that any one can read....... so I created my identity as "arunmails"....
