What kind of foods do you prepare during Christmas Eve / Day?
Would you be having pasta, different viands, desserts etc?
In our family, we usually have spaghetti, Filipino Specialty Dishes (those that we dont eat in our everyday lives), and of course Christmas will not be complete without my sisters famous Fruit Salad..

We usually have turkey and ham, lots of vegetables and potatoes and dressing. Two types of dressing because some people do not eat certain things. The desserts are having like pumpkin pies, cheesecakes, chocolate pies and some cakes of different kinds. Also there are some rolls there as well.

Like you we usually have spaghetti and salad (fruit salad) on the table. I just don't know why we Filipinos have spaghetti in our special occasions. :)
Christmas is one of the joyous seasons of the year in my locality. In the neighborhood, we usually share food to each other. We give them some of my family's food and they will also give us theirs in return. This is a tradition I observed only in my place. It is the time of the year that we experience sharing. There may be families nearby my house who are not fortunate to have a grand celebration by cooking foods but their table won't be left empty because of the food from other neighbors.

I don't know... i think i will cook lasagna again... since that was quite a hit last Christmas... and i think this year we will have lots of fruit cake because my sister-in-law decided to bake some for the holidays...
I am still thinking about what other dishes we would prepare... but of course the famous fruit salad will always be present...

The usual foods on our table every Christmas would be Fiesta Ham, Lechon Kawali or Crispy Pata, any pasta (either Macaroni, Lasgna, or Spaghetti), fried chicken and fried rice. Hahaha, to think that there's only 3 of us in the family =P I also like adding more like placing a bowl of round and rectangular-shaped chocolates and candies on the center of the table. Many say "round" food to have better luck with finances for the incoming year. I say "round AND rectangular" foods. I like coins, but paper would be nice, hahaha That's half superstition and half is just for fun. I satisfying our tastebuds with sweet treats I guess

Every year we have the same christmas dinner. I make turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cheese carrots, brussel sprouts and gravy. Then we also have buns, cranberry jelly and of course pumpkin pie for dessert. I cook for about 15 to 20 people every year so I try to make it simple.

For a Danish Christmas eve dinner we have a goose and a pork roast, sugar coated Danish potatoes, red cabbage, and a dish made with apples and bacon. There's also lots of gravy. For dessert we have Danish rice pudding, and whoever gets the almond in their bowl gets a present.
