Popup promlems

Hi, popups anoy everyone but although you can get rid of them i dont know if i want to. because they are anoying one that promiss this it will never give you. and then there are ones that send you to websites like mylot. my friend dicovered mylot from a popup and without it i wouldnt be typing this write now. how can you stop the anoying popups and keep the good ones??
