I think its better to receive. Mostly because I'm selfish and like getting stuff. But sometimes giveing can be good too.

I think it is better to give. Don't get me wrong, I definately appreciate the presents I get from others, but what makes me happy is the fact that they wanted to give me something. If the giver has picked out the present especially for me,I get touched and happy.I am not very materialistic, and things have never been very important to me. That's probably one of the reasons why I prefer to give.I like to make people happy and brighten their day with an unexpected present.

It's better to give! But, it sure is a lot of fun to receive! As long as there is a balance! :)

I don't really like things, to be honest. The only material possessions that can make me happy for more than a day are CDs that I really like or books, mostly. Plus, most of the time I've been given things that I really don't like. I love getting money instead, I think it's much more considerate. Instead of spending money on things that I have to pretend to like, let me do it! I like giving though, if I really know the person and I know the gift is awesome. Makes me feel like a superhero.

I've heard the saying that in order to receive, you have to give. To me, giving is better than receiving because it allows you to brighten a person's day. Also, when I see someone's face light up because they weren't expecting anything and yet, then they open it and smile, it makes me feel better about myself and that I could have possibly helped them in some way. I'm a big believer in karma. What I give out, I would get back.

Well you wouldn't have gotten those presents if people didn't give. I agree it's wonderful to receive but you always need to share it with other people by giving. Selfish isn't a good thing.

I think that both things are of big importance. If you want to receive you should give as well. I remember one phrase which might not be quite appropriate for this topic but the moral is similar- ' The only way to have friends is to be a friend'. I believe there must be balance between these two things. happy mylotting
