So as I said on here a few days ago I finally quit my job because my boss was treating me like a door mat.She treated me badly and didn't even treat me like a human being. Well today I find out my dad (who worked for the same company as me) was fired today simply because "she didnt need him anymore" Ok that is a clear case of retaliation. She only did it to get even with me for quitting.I fully intend on filing a complaint with the labor board. Intentional infliction
of emotional pain, public humiliation, retaliation, she did not allow me to have my last check, and my personal favorite I cannot WAIT to tell the labor board that she employeed a 13 year old kid ignoring minor labor laws. She messed with the wrong person. I'm usually a very calm easy going person but she did me wrong. But to fire my dad out of retaliation for me quitting was the final straw. As the Dixie Chicks song says. "I'm not ready to make nice, i'm not ready to back down. I'm mad as hell"

There nothing worst than a bad boss and I had to work for a few of them and that why I decided to go back to school and maybe some day work for myself that is as long as we are not in a great depression.
I live in a right to work state and I don't know why they call it that because what it really means is that the employer has to right to fire you over anything and there nothing that you can do. I hope you are not in one of those state and goodluck to you.

No I am not. They must have a documented legitimate reason. and firing for retaliation ESPECIALLY is against the law here in my home state.

That's the most appropriate thing you should do. I support you 100%! I know how it feels, I have experienced it myself with one employer before. I really hate people who think they are greater than me, and then do whatever they please just because they can. This type of person, as you have mentioned, deserve to be taken a court action. And if possible you can make this into a big case. I am sure there are many other of your friends from the same company who hate her the same as you do. Make them as your witness, and with this support I am sure you will win.
Going against a company is difficult but if you know the right way you have a big chance to win, and you can claim a huge amount of compensation out of this. I suggest that you claim a big amount. Never settle for 10k or 20k, this is too little to be compared with the damage she had done to you and your father.

well it's not really good that she should involve your dad just coz she is mad at you for quitting. you have the right to quit anyways if you feel like you're not being treated real good. it's better to talk to the labor board. your dad was treated unfair as well

good ..what u did was just rite never take muck from anyone ..but the person you love...
And fight ..to the last..if you are right you will win your case..what has happened to you must not happen with another employee..
am with you fight..
live with dignity and self respect...
but this rule must not apply when you are in love..then you must surrender even when you are right..once you see your point is not taken cos there there is no ego..there is only love and love has to be nurtured..what are you going to gain by winning an arguemnet..so as well surrender end be loving..
Your boss needs that scratch you talking about go ahead...charge...
