A number of years ago started to learn Dutch using the Linguaphone method then went to a night class so I could sit an exam. I have since taken and passed a few exams and decided I would like to go as far as possible with my study of the language. Unfortunately, after I got to a reasonble intermediate level, I began searching for the necessary resources to get to a higher level. I've searched everywhere on the internet for info regarding advanced level studies but have found nothing!
Dont suppose any myLotters would be able to point me to anything suitable? Thanks...

I am very impressed that you have taken the time and the trouble to learn Dutch. I used to live in Germany on the Holland border and socialised and shopped mostly in Holland. I never needed to learn Dutch, but often wished that I had. Despite Danny Kaye describing it as "a disease of the throat"! I think that you should write to the Netherlands Education Department and see if they could provide you with any advice. There seems to be a large number of schools/online resources, but they seem to specialise in colloquial Dutch and not the more advance written aspects. I am sorry not to be able to help you. But I hope that you manage to find something that suits you.
Welcome to myLot.

Hi p1kef1sh,
Thanks for the welcome and the help, I will indeed try your suggestion. I think the only real way I could learn Dutch to the level I want is to go over there for a while. I don't think my wife would appreciate me swanning off to Holland to learn the language though..she may think I have other motives for going to Amsterdam!
Thanks again, Rob
