I am seriously worried!! And need some help over this. My feet never smells.. Even when I am wearing shoes. But some times when I am at my home and wearing my slippers my feet suddenly starts sweating and smelling.. I don't get it!! I AM WEARING MY FULLY VENTILATED SLIPPERS!! Then why the hell are my feet smelling?? I have my own personal slippers and I don't even share any one's foot wears with me. Please give me some home remedies for this. I can't just go to loo and keep my washing my feet every now and then!!

Hi Stella I saw this show on tv the other day. They were taking questions and stuff from the audience. This one woman had the same problem...well not so much as her feet just smell all the time. In fact the Dr did a sniff test...on ascale from 1 - 10 he gave her an 11. His fix it was to soak the feet in black tea for 30 minutes a day everyday for a week and then just periodically after that. It is supposed to do something with the pores and sweat glands. The show that I saw was called "The Doctors". Its put on by all of the Drs that Oprah has on her show. The link to the shows site is http://www.thedoctorstv.com Anyway good luck

If it is only your slippers, somehow smoethign is getting in there..Dr. Schols, (sp?) has many poders and sprays for just that problem..Or if you want to go more natural, baking soda..Sprinkle it inside you slippers and let it sit all day, and then shake it out before putting them on, see if that works..

it could be the material the slippers are made out of. i used to have these wonderful blue slip-on flats that i just adored! but the second my feet got hot and therefore sweaty..they stank to high heaven! i could wear any other shoe and sweat in them and none of them smelled like that. i cant remember what the fabric was though..damn. if you wear other shoes and have sweated in them with no bad smells resulting, then i would be blaming the slippers. IF it was something wrong with your FEET, then the smell would happen no matter what shoes/slippers you were wearing. try getting a pair of slippers in a different fabric/material..then see what happens before you start getting worried.

I guess you are right.. My slippers are simple made of those rubber kind of thing.. I wouldn't call it a fabric.. They are basically bathroom slippers..

I wish that I had some ideas that would help you. I don't though because my feet are the same way. I love wearing slippers but my feet seem to sweat more when I wear them. I have now resorted to wearing fuzzy socks or at least warm socks around the house. It seems like they don't sweat as much in socks as they do in slippers.

I only use socks at home in the winter. I usually go barefoot in the summer and the spring. I hope this problem gets better for you.

hi stella 1989 There is a really simple solution to that foot odor. sprinkle some baking soda into your slippers, shake them around and dump out the soda, then sprinkle some mennens ]baby powder in them and dump that out. They should be odor free after that. baking soda is so good for getting rid of smelly odors.

you might want to go visit a doctor or perhaps you might as well consider buying new slippers.

I heard that by wearing white cotton socks this will help the problem but if it happens even barefooted then I would suggest using a medicated foot powder. Have you seen the doctor about this?

No I am not seeing any doctor yet for this.. I'll see if the problem increases I will have to get myself to a doctor!! Thanks for your response.

i think there can be some problem with the particular material of the slipper.it also happens with some clothes where the body feels smelly. also keep the foot clean by washing and putting some powder ( anti allergic). it can help

Hi stella1989! It's been quite an age when I spent here in Mylot. Hope you guys are doing great? It sound strange to me, but I think one of the reasons could be that wearing shoes prevent bacteria and dirts from entering your feet. The shoes will cover your feets verywell while slippers allow bacteria that go with the air to enter your feets. That is what I think, but believer some people here can give you a better answer.

I believe that you have athlete foot and so you can go to the pharmacy and buy a soap and powder that can address this problem. I myself has it but it only affects me whenever I am in closed up shoes. I also wash my slippers regularly so that it does no affect my athlete's.

hey stella, please read my response to THEFUTURE-on the first page of this discussion Use boric acid. It will help no matter what shoes or slippers your foot sweats in, and there will be no more odour!

ok I will consider your advice.. And thank you very much for it. But are your sure that it won't harm the skin? Or leave it extremely dry?

my friend had something like this happen to her before her feet would start to stink when she put on this one pair of shoes. but what is so funny about it is that she wouldn't admit it but i could smell it. come to find out her mom smelled it and it had to do something with the material the shoes were made from. her mom threw them out but that might be the reason why if they never stink any other time. just get some new slippers.

It can be problem of material.. It can be from the stuff your slippers are made of. Like I know, I can't wear some t-shirts with some special material, because then i will swet, and it is very uncomfortable. I'll suggest You to try some other slippers.

Hi stell! It's been quite an age that I spent time in Mylot, but I hope you guys are doing great? I think it will sound strange to some people, but I think, one of the reasons why you having such experience is because the shoes will cover the whole part of your feet which will also prevent bacteria that comes through air to attack you while slippers will leave your feets exposed to air which in turn causes bacteria. There are people in Mylot that can give you better answer, but that's what I think. Thanks

check out the material for the slippers' soles. some materials used for the soles of slippers encourage a lot of sweating. also, maybe you switched soaps. they do make a lot of difference if you were using an antibacterial soap before and changed into a regular soap recently.

Try soaking your feet in a basin filled with hot water and brewed tea. Of course, do this when the temperature of the water is already tolerable. The tea has an ingredient which helps minimize sweating and odor. I got this from http://spaandfacialcarecenter.blogspot.com/
