Fake VISA Travellers Cheques made out to AAA 4 x $500

Ok so this morning i got a recorded delivery letter that i was not expecting and it contained a blank lined piece of paper with 4 x $500 usa travellers cheques made out to AAA and verified by visa. I was unsure what to do with them as i never use travel cheques so i took them the a travel agents who told me to go to the bank who told me to go to the post office as i am in the uk not many places deal with travellers cheques that are visa they use american express the post office then had to call visa to verify as they were over $200 and they informed her that they were not listed and where therefore fraudulant she phtocopied everything and sent to the fraud department in visa and i reported them to the police the company is Interpayment service ltd. I just wondered anyone else have this happen to them and if so what happened, it is very disheartning as i have recently won a competetion and i thought this was my prize.
