How many fingers do you use for typing?

Hello, vimaal. As for me, I use 10 fingers for typing. I forgot about my exact speed is now, but about 7 years ago it was 60 words per minute. The fastest was 60 words per minute. I don't have a typing program here so I can't accurately measure it. Can anyone suggest any good typing software?

I use my first finger of both hands and thumb usually for typing.

Try to use all my fingers but then as I am writting this it looks like I only uses 6 ot 7 and my thimb. But I have to look at my hands to make sure I hit most of the keys right this is the way I taught myself to type

I am using atmost four fingers for typing. I have not really gone to a school where typewriting is a requirement. Though I know in theory that both set of fingers should be used still I am using a minimal number.

I too use nine fingers for typing. And I type very fast. I had learnt to type at the age of 5!

i used all of mine for typing.. now.. i may not type correctly all the time but they all are trying to work together on it lol

To be frank, I am using five fingers for typing. I can not type very speed, but I can type the words very accurately. Now I am trying to increase my typing speed as much as possible. Happy Mylotting.

i use nine also . i toke a key boarding class when i was int he 8th grade and well and thats how i learned i used my right thumb for the space bar and the other one for nothing lol

I use all of my fingers. I was a good typiest. I learned it in my schooling. If I get bored I use my two fingers only.

I just checked and I found out I use 8 fingers mostly to type, so that doesn't include my left pinky or right thumb so much. I guess I might use them sometimes, but normally my left thumb presses space and my right pinky is used for shift. I l think I type pretty fast, and I don't have to look at the keyboard anymore...but I guess I could be faster.

I use 8 fingers and both thumbs for typing...My kids and husband are hunt and peck two finger types though LOL actually i think my son is slowly learning the proper typing form which is good..

Use all 8 of my fingers and my right thumb for typing. My left thumb just kind of rests on the keyboard when I am typing. I think my typing has really improved since joining myLot last year. I used to almost always look at the keyboard when I type, but I do not anymore.

Hi vimaal. I use all my TWO FINGERS . And it is OK for me. I can type what I want to and I am fast but only with two fingers. Cheers.

I use all 8 fingers and 2 thumbs. I took a class in high school and now since then I am able to type with all of them and not even look at the keyboard. I type my novels and short stories that I work on so I would hope that I would be able to type pretty well. :)

I use both of my hands and all ten fingers. I am a very quick typist. I learned how to type properly at a very young age, and it just stuck. I've never typed any other way. I'm so glad though. When I see people typing with their index fingers, I feel like they are taking forever and I need to stop them and do it myself. Obviously, I don't...but sometimes it does cross my mind!
