i am just wondering who of you here are always prompt or on time when ever you have to meet someone? do you prefer to be the one to wait or you prefer the other person to wait for you? i believe that being tardy most of the time is not a good habit at all. this will lessen your credibility and sincerity with the person that you are meeting up though from time to time it is unavoidable especially if there is an emergency that came along. are you always on time or tardy?

I HATE being late!!! I am one of those people that believe that you are either 15 to 10 minutes early or you are late... lol It just get's aggrivating to show up late and having others stare you down like you just committed a crime and plus I am patient and waiting has never been a bother to me. So yeah... early is the best thing to be... by far! lol

For me, I always try to get to a place on time unless there's some very good reason why I can't. In my home country, it is a norm to be late for meet ups; agreeing to meet at 7pm for example means actually meeting up at 7.30pm. But my parents have always stressed and taught me to be early than late, and that we should not keep people waiting for you because the other person might be frustrated with our lateness. Hence, I always turn up early for any event or program that I have to attend. Just recently, I had to attend a job interview as well. Being the puctual person that I was, I decided to take the earlier bus to get to the interview venue on time. Boy...was I glad that I did because there was a bad road accident on my journey there, and there was a bad traffic jam. My journey got delayed for more than 20 minutes but fortunately it was made up for by the earlier bus that I took. In the end, I reached the interview venue JUST ON TIME. I shudder to think what impression I would have protrayed to the interviewer if I had inadvertantly took the following bus! So, we should never underestimate punctuality and earliness.....

hello, that was really fortunate of you getting a habit of always getting on time or earlier as the meet up time. i think being late is very inappropriate for a job interview. the company will not find you reliable or something at work. keep the habit. have a great day!!!

I try to be always on time but sometimes, I fail to do so. I think I hate to wait than be the one being waited for. At work, I am not always late, I even got a perfect attendance for a whole month three times this year. But when it comes to gimmicks, I take my time. I sometimes arrive late but not too late that everyone has already left. =)

i teach my kids to be prompt on their schedules but since they still young, a lot of times they dont act quickly so it's stressful on my part since i have to do all the preparation so we/they wouldnt be late.
i have to do the stressful parts over and over again, til my kids would understand the meaning of being "prompt".

they will eventually understand it when they grow up. don't stress yourself to much over it just let them know the importance of it and that will instill in their minds. :)

Hello, Kenchiprincess!
I am punctual. I am not arriving late at any kind of event. If I have commited myself by saying that I was going to be there at, let's say, three o'clock, then I will be there at three o'clock.
I program myself to arrive half an hour sooner, so even if some emergency happens I will still be on time. It has always worked. Sometimes I arrive one hour sooner, but I don't mind waiting. As long as the others are not late. I mean, if I get one hour sooner, there is no problem in waiting. Now, if they don't appear on the time, it gives me the impression that they are not coming. I don't get nervous, though, I just get worried. But nothing that I can't handle.
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

that's appropriate letting the other person know that you will be late prior to the meeting so that you can both adjust the skeds. thanks for sharing!!!

I'm always early by a few min at least. Especially for interviews and appointments. I don't like to be late. It is not a good look. In the beginning of my pregnancy, I was late like every single day. I just couldn't get it together. I think my supervisor knew that I was having a hrd time, so she really didn't say too much. but I still felt so bad about myself for that. I would always try to stay a little longer after work on those days that I was late. I'm always on time for my ob appointments. I used to arrive really early, but they're always late in getting around to me.

I really do try to be on time as much as I can but sometimes I just can't help being that 5 to 10 minutes late. You know when you forget to do something just before you go out the door. Or you try to squeeze in one errand before you go to meet someone. I am sure it happens more often than not.

I hate people who are always late and i am definitely someone who hates to wait for people, i would prefer them to be the one to wait for me. I am a punctual person and i have been tired of waiting for my friends all the time. So now when i meet my friends i wont arrive on time because i know they will be late, hehe. Although sometimes they arrive on time.

I try to be on time. If I have a choice I prefer to be the one waiting. I have 3 small children though so it's not unusual for me to run a little behind. Some days it seems no matter how prepared I am something comes up and I'm late. I don't like that and I always try to get everything together early to avoid it.

I know for school most of the time im usally on time. Thes only been a few times where ive been late and that was cause of some heavy traffic even though I left 30 min early I had no controll of it. Im usally late for work by a few minutes which they dont seem to mind since most people show up late for work. But for meeting and stuff I always show up on time.

I am always on time. I think I just am very good at being on time. I can get ready in no time and still look good and be on time. I dont really have to rush or anything. I think I am just always on time because I hate it when other people are late. Its really annoying and makes you look bad. The people who are ALWAYS late just make me mad. Why not wake up or leave 10 minutes earlier... catch an earlier bus? Its such a bad quality to have.... being late. ugh.

I try to be very punctual whenever I meet up with someone. If I know they'll be really late though, I'll allow myself to be a little late too, but normally I always arrive first. When there's an emergency, I understand completely but if its just an excuse or people always arrive late, I take a bit of offense to it because I don't feel that they consider my time valuable or they care so much.

Usually I'm not the type to really stick to an exact time. I just get there when I get there. But when I am meeting someone I always get there on time. Actually a little bit earlier, cause you never know what time their watch might say. I've had to wait for people before , and it was really annoying. So I make sure that I don't do the same to others. If there is an emergency, there's really not much you can do besides try to contact the person before they leave to meet you, and warn them that you'll be late. Most people are understanding. Things happen. But there are some that just don't care. You could have been in a car accident, and lost all your limbs, and they would wonder why you didn't make it, and say you are just making excuses. ohhhh one thing I do to make sure I'm on time (cause i like to rush at the last minute) is set my clocks a half hour ahead. That way if I'm late, i'm not late. wink wink
