tail chewing

My new adopted cat chews and licks the tip of her tail frequently to the point whre it looks like it was dipped in water. Is tis normal?

Its not normal to be licking constantly in the one spot....Where did you get her from ? maybe she was anxious in her last home and this is the result of how she deals with it...Or it could even be as simple as something is annoying here there, like a bindii from the garden ???

it can be..i've had cats that just liked to fidget at their own fur,no reason. but i would carefully move the fur back with my fingers and look at the skin to make sure she has no mites or fleas on the tail.
