If someone disagrees with you on something and calls your way of thinking idiotic, how would you react?
Would you be offended? Angry?
Answerd with more name calling? Or would you just let go and do nothing?
Calling my way of thinking idiotic is the same as calling me an idiot and I would feel ofended. I dont like name calling and belive that only insecure people have to use such words.
What are your thoughts about this?

I think i would definately respond negatively... I really try to hold off calling anyone idiotic for disagreeing with me... sometimes its REALLY REALLY HARD... like when someone doesnt get how the economy works, and assumes that it can be fixed their way...and they cant seem to understand that their way causes inflation and that would be bad.... its really hard... lol
but yeah, I think I would just kinda either insult them back, and/or walk away

I think it depends how wrong or unreasonable I was. I would probably ask why or be like "prove me wrong" or something. Also it depends how bad they said it. If its not so mean, I will consider redoing my logic. Else, "Have you got anything better?" or "What's wrong with that?" I try not to name call but sometimes I probably will if they do too. :x

Basicly what happend was someone misunderstood my answer completly and then called it idiotic thinking.
I myself would never say that even if I would disagree or even thought the person is a complete stupido, but would never say something like that to someone. i just think its rude.
Thx for your answer.

I wouldn't be real offended as like you said, it more than likely means that person is very insecure. I would probably feel a little angry for a moment but I would not resort to name calling in return. I would also avoid any deep conversations with this person in the future as obviously they are not capable of such conversations.

I actually know just how you feel. Last year I was discussing politics with some co-workers, and mentioned that I thought a certain presidential candidate had a lot of good policies and one of the co-workers said, "Anyone who would vote for that *expletive* would have to be a complete idiot." I was so taken aback. I had a hard time respecting her at all after that. It is completely ridiculous to resort to this type of attack just because you have no better argument. I hope you realize it just means the person who said that to you had know intelligent opinion to voice.
