I lost my 14 yr. old cat a year ago this past summer. She was the fuzzy love of my life. She slowly declined- she just got slower and thinner and it was heartbreaking. She was old and all we could really do was love her and keep her comfortable. It was so hard for me. She was the first Christmas gift my husband every gave me so to lose her was like losing a child. I still miss her.

I had a german shephard that contracted parvo! Its a disease that you know the animal will die regardless of treatment! It was so sad but we had to let nature take its course! I called the vet they told me that we can put him in and have him on iv medication. Have him fully sedated and keep him on iv's there was only a 1% chace that he would survive and if he did then he would never be the same just lay around and mope! So to speak! And even then he would only live mabie a few months. It would have cost of thousands of dollars to do this so we decided to let him go! It was a very hard decision but we knew if not he would have a hard few months and would be suffering for a longggg time!

It depends on what they were dying from. If it was something curable, I would treat them. If it was natural, and their time, I would make sure it was as comfortable, and pain free as possible. I would want my animal to have the best treatment offered in this life, but would not deny when it was their time. I love my animals as if they were my flesh and blood, I would do what I could, and eliminate as much suffering as possible...
