I used to work in a call center for 3 years and one peculiar benefit that I know is the HAZZARD PAY... it's a benefit given to employees depending on the proximity of your workplace to your house... I find this peculiar because only call centers give this benefit to their employees and NOT the ordinary day job companies.... How about you? In your job? Do you have any benefit/s that are rarely given by other companies?

Not all centers offer hazzard pay, but at least they compensate it with other benefits (I guess)... like higher medical allowances, food and transporatation allowance etc... I think, SYKES Asia offers hazzard pay, you may try to apply there and just don't forget to treat me for a lunch if you get hired hehehe just kidding... :-)

your joking. call center's pay Hazzard pay? why?
ive gotten hazzard pay on my ordinary day job before. course it was unusual circumstances. i was a dispatcher at a trucking company and there was a possible chemical spill on the property..they had to evacuate but some of us had to stay a while to make sure ppl got out and that all the equipment that could have caused fires and stuff was moved or shutdown. so i earned hazzard pay for the couple of hours i spent there.
men who work on oil rigs or drilling rigs get hazzard pay...but ive never heard of a calling center paying it. do call center employees get threatened or something in the Philippines?

Hi Cinder! Yes, here in the Philippines, call centers usually give out Hazzard Pay as one of the benefits... Why? It's because call center agents usually work at night, there are some who will start their work as early as 1am... so going to work is somewhat dangerous for some. Also, some agents will have a shift from 6pm-2am, so 2am is not a perfect time to go home.... So they will opt to get a cab to make it safer for them to go home... I think in the Philippines, most companies are concerned with their employees...
