How important is your reputation/rating for you?

It does not really bother me to see my rating go down, as long as I have my own self confidence I am okay with it. The onternet should not be taken so seriously anyway, you know? When my rating goes up I am glad, and when it goes down I am indifferent. There are just those days where people either love your or hate you hehe. Now if my rating went down to like a three star, then maybe I would conclude that people just don't like me haha, but I would be okay with myself, I probably would make a lot less money though, but who knows how mylot works anyway. of course i'd like to have a good rating as everyone would i'm sure but when it's being controlled by people who don't know u & just happen not to like your opinion on things u can't worry about it too much.

I am just glad that my reputation hasn't gone down for quite a while... it have been a blue 10 for quite sometime now... but if it goes down... i will definetely feel sad about it... but that would also make me work hard to regain back my blue 10 star reputation... The star rating doesn't really do anything for us... but seeing that blue 10 makes me feel quite proud because i know i post a lot of quality responses and discussions...

Not important at all!! Of course, we can't please everybody. However carefully you write, someone will get offended by it and mark a negative. And I have noticed that the most sensible, truthful people on Mylot have a low star rating. So getting a low star rating might be a compliment in itself. :) Cheers and happy mylotting

i use to feel upset when my star goes down, i had been here for almost 2 years now, and i had witnessed my star went up and down...at first i was frustrated, i had cursed and blame people who doesn't have anything to do with their lives....but later on i happen to grow with it.. now i don't get affected, if you notice my star it went up to a shiny blue one before now, its a shiny red one...means someone rated me negative but i don't mind,, i don't wanna go on feeling upset with this stars anymore, it will drive me away in here i still do...reason why i lack interest with this stars now... i just come here because of friends...and i just come here to earn nothing more of that..i don't care if my discussions are rated, if my discussions are on hot topics...for as long as i can visit mylot that's all

Well I must confess that from time to time I do check it out if it had increased, before I got the blue star and the rating was stuck at 97 out of 100, it bothers me for a while and do wonder why it was stuck there, but that's just it, I don't give out much importance on it. But I am sure every one of us here cannot deny the fact that it affects them even a little. How do I react when I see it fluctuates? Oh a bit sad but not too much and most often than not, I just ignore it.

i am not sure whether they influence on our earnings.. but it look nice to have good stars.. i hope mine wont go down, of course i would be sad at first if it went down.... just hope it wont.. hehe

It matters to me because I know what I deserve, but then again, it does not matter to me, because I know that some people like to bring others ratimgs down for no reason.

It is not very important for me. As some people are very bad and they rate your post negative anyway. So the reputation won't tell much. I don't care about it. I love China

It's not that I would work for it to get a high number, but I do like it when I see my rating going up. I had a star rating of 10, but it did go down, and I hope to regain it, but it's not that I would do everything possible to get it back. Have a nice day

I used to care about my rating but it doesn't bother me now. I hope everybody takes no notice of them as there are some really nice people here who've had their rating star destroyed by nasty people. So don't take any notice read the discussions and responses and ignore the star.

i love seeing a blue star beside my name, although i think that if it was to turn red at some point i wouldn't feel bad about it. somewhere along the way, some myLotters will disagree with what we have to say and rate us negatively for it. you're right in pointing out that we can't please everybody. so although my star is important for me, i wouldn't exactly lose sleep over it if it turned red or yellow or whatever.

I don't really mind. I also don't focus on one interest alone so my rating varies a lot. I think that as long as myLot itself does not reprimand me in some way then I'm not doing anything wrong. You're absolutely right that we can't please everybody, and nor should we! If our opinions are solicited, we should give them just that :) Thanks for the response on my discussion!

i don't feel much about the star when it decreases. here star numbers can increase and decrease because of the answers we give and the reputation we have here. if some one rates good for me, i feel good towards them.

it is important for me i must say. but few months back few trolls played havoc with it. i lost very much reputation. i had a blue 10. i was down at 6

As much as possible i try to maintain a 10 rating. It matters to me. Though we cannot please all but we can be nice to all. Thank you and have a nice day!

When i 1st saw my star and rating, i was quite happy and excited because that's my 1st.. ANd when it keeps rising, i was even more happier even though i still dun really know the meaning of it initially.. lol =D ANd when finally i reach blue, i was very excited, but only for a week or so, b4 it dropped.. I was surprised and also upset, but after some time, i dun really care for my ratings or star anymore, because no matter how hard i try to bring it up, it will always come down.. lol =D Thus, i have given up on my rating, just like it be.. haha

For me, the very reason why I joined MYLOT basically is to earn and enjoy writing. I did not think that there will be reputation and rating, thus, I am not so fixated with my reputation and rating. For me, as long as, I enjoy writing, I am still ok with this regardless of the reputation or rating.

I'm not upset if it stay's at the same rating, but if It went down then yes, I would be upset. I would feel like I have not been doing my best on mylot and I need to reply to some more discussions, since I do love posting.

I wish I new something more about those stars and rating system. But even if my reputation would go down, I would not take it too seriously, because honestly- it is impossible to please everybody, and why I should do that? No way. It is good to have high reputation, and it is ok if I do not have it. And they say: "There is nothing You can loose when You have nothing", right?
