If you lend money to you friends,how do you turn money back from your friends?

Recently i lend some money to my friends,he said he need it indeed,i lent at September,now i need money because i want to buy something,but i don't how to ask him.I think it is bad that talking about money with friends,i hope he can turn money back active,up to now he don't do,maybe he forget?Or he have no enough money?I have no idea,if i borrow money,i will turn it back as quick as possble,if i don't have enough money to return, i will tell him and explain.
Did you experienced?How do you do when you face this problem?

Sadly I have always been a victim of friends borrowing money but have never paid me back. I'm the kind of person who don't remind people that they still owe me money cause I get embarrassed telling them. I just wait until they pay but if not then I guess I'd just have to forget about it and just not lend them money again.
But I have never borrowed money from anyone that I haven't paid back. I always return the money even if I burrowed it from a family member. If ever I don't have enough money yet, I will tell the person that I will pay him/her back as soon as possible. It's better to tell the truth than let the person think that you are trying to run off from your debts.

You are right,I also think like this.i always think that i don't care whether he give money back before i lent money,but when it happened my mind changed
,i hope he can give money back as quickly as possble.I don't think that the money affect relation of friends.Now i am feeling that you shall treat money faireven if he is your faimly numember.

How much did you give him anyway? If it's a large numbers of money and there's no such thing as IOU exists between you guys, there could be a problem. I know how awkward it would be to ask a friend like that, but maybe he simply forget about it? So if you really need the money back right now, talk to him about your situation, then decide what to do next.After all, true friends wouldn't mind you asking. Good luck with everything.

Thank for your suggestion,it is about $2000,maybe it is less for others,it is more for me,i save them for several months,if just several hundreds i think i will forget it,but it is not,i believe he can give it back to me.

Yes,you are right,i really don't know how to say...I don't blame him,i just want to know when he can give it back,but i am afraid about relation,maybe i should not worry about it.

It's hard!Specially if you don't have the guts to ask your money back.Thats me!I easily get pity and help but during the times that i needed money nobody was there to help me and i am also ashame to ask my money back because my principle is you know where and who you lend money from so you know how to get it back.Theres no need for asking it back if you just know how to turn it back.
