I love to read, because it is good exercise for the brain and it keeps the brain productive and healthy. I love all kinds of books ranging from history, to fiction, to poetry, philosophy, mythology, politics, theology, you name it I enjoy it. I love to learn from books in addition to getting entertained. I love to get carried off into magical realms that are usually found only in dreams. Books take me into worlds of fantasy and a different kind of reality. I like reading books that heighten my senses and capture the imagination, as well as inspire me.

I too would like to fill my free time by reading.
My favourites are motivation books. It will really
inspire me. Once I started reading, I can hardly put
it down. Another favourites are detective stories like
the The Secret Seven by Enid Blyton, Shellock Holmes etc.

I am not an avid reader. But I remembered when I was in Primary School
I like to read during school holidays and during rainy days. I normally
read the Aesop Fables, adventures and traveling books. I believe those
traveling books has a very strong impact on my life today. I love to
travel every now and then to visit places of interesting cultures, people,
architectures and history! Nowadays, I enjoy reading motivation books like
'Who Moves My Cheese', Buzan Mind Mapping, and some Christian books that my
eldest sister bought for me

Mine too. Reading opens your mind to the iseas of the world. If you develop an idea by your own thinking & reasoning and are absorbed in the haughtiness of it all, your are no addition to the talent pool of the world. Every idea that arises in the mind of someone must be developed and presented to others to be tested against the touchstone of reality as perceived by several of this thinking species. Books are the records of such ideas. A good read makes you humble; it throws what is yet to be known into relief against what is known. As for reading choices I am with you.

Reading is also one of my passions and I always have a book either in my hand or at least near me. I do not know what I would do if I could not read. I love to read almost anything..from fiction, romance, mystery, sci fi, fantasy, some nonfiction (like Biographies)....
I feel the same way as you do...I love being transported to another place when I read and being entertained also. I enjoy feeding my imagination and taking me into the book....

I love reading as well. It's one of my favorite hobbies. I think it's a good way to learn about new things and a good way to develop your creativity and your imagination. Not only that, but for me, it's a sense of escape. An escape into another world. Something to help me release some tension, or something. Reading has helped me a lot, in several different ways.

Hi Keola, I love reading too, though I'm only interested in crime and horror. I usually read to relax, so I don't go for heavy subjects like politics or philosophy. I once read a lot on mythology (Chinese, Greek, Roman), but haven't done much reading of this lately!
