When I was a kid I had severe asthma. When I was at home and had an attack my parents took me to the emergency room. When I stayed overnight at my grandmother's house she filled the bathroom sink with hot, steaming water and put in some oil of wintergreen drops. Then she put a towel over my head and had me breathe in the fumes until the wheezing subsided. Did any of you grow up with any home remedies? Will you share some with us please? There are reasons these things work. Chicken soup works on curing colds because of the garlic and onions in it. Thanks.

I don't know of any home remedies for asthma. For me, nothing works faster than an inhaler or a brown paper bag (if there's no inhaler nearby).
