With Halloween coming a lot of horror movies are on T.V. This got me to thinking of the best horror movie ever made? I think I would say "Devils Rejects" or the "Nightmare on Elm St." movies.
I like the Elm street movies because each movie adds a little more background into Freddy. I think he is a scary character, and funny to boot.
What do you think the best horror movie of all times is?

If you want a true horror movie.... go back a few years. Try the ORIGINAL Halloween or The Exorcist. Halloween isn't scary, but with a movie that had such a small budget, it has grossed a lot of money these past 30 years. Of course, there's always the classic The Exorcist. That was the first movie that ever scared me. I was raised on horror movies (seeing my first at age 5) and the first horror movie I was was Poltergeist. It didn't scare me. The Exorcist did. That has to say something.

The Amityville horror scared the you know what out of me, but I have not seen it in years, so I don't know if it would still have the same effect now. I also think the original Nightmare on Elm Street was really scary. Poltergiest was also pretty frightening as well.

For me, it would be "The Ring" (the first one). I watched it about 6 years ago and it scared me silly, especially since I have a 17" computer screen in my room (which I figured would be large enough for her to climb through lol). I couldn't sleep well for weeks (probably also because I don't take horror moview very well in general). I don't want to ruin it for people who haven't seen it yet so I'll just say that I wasn't expecting that ending since I thought it was over with the bones part. So when it hit me, it hit pretty hard.
