Talking Petrol Caps

Some time ago I started several discusions on inanimate talking objects, like cans, rocks, lamp-posts etc, and I thought that would have been the end of the matter. Now I've discovered another one. Yes!! - Talking Petrol Caps which are now going to be introduced for some cars. When you open the flap to put petrol (gas) into the car, the cap will tell you that it only takes unleaded (or desiel - if a desiel engine). This is actually a good idea, because it costs a lot to flush out the petrol tank if the wrong type of fuel is put into the car, also the engine could be damaged as well.

This is interesting. I have never heard about this one yet, but it could be an excellent idea for someone who has been on the road for a long time, or someone who might be borrowing or renting a car to help let them know what type of Gas is best for that vehicle as well. But personally unless you did not fill up that often wouldn't this become annoying to some people?

People get annoyed at silly things, and this could soon lose it's novelty contend, however I'd rather get annoyed than lose a lot of money by putting the wrong type of petrol into a car.

Yes this would be excellent for my husband. He put unleaded into a desiel car we rented once. The hire company where not to pleased. Yes this sounds good. We have two cars now. One desiel and one unleaded and you do have to be careful when you fill up at station. I think this would be a good idea as it does cost a lot to flush it out and if you start the car with the wrong fuel in it, it can also seriously damage the engine. Yes thanks for this discussion. We will probably be seeing these gadgets soon.

That could have cost quite a lot, especially if the engine was damaged.
