Hi to all
I was sent an IM from Yahoo President Anna Rubenecia saying yahoo will no longer have free messenger November 17,2008 Is this true?
Now see a Message I got for My Friends
Yahoo is shutting down on November 17th. They want to get rid of free messenger. If you delete this and don't pass it on your name will be deleted. A lot of people have already been deleted. Right click on the group name of your buddylist and click Send Instant Message to All in Group.. This is Yahoo President Anna Rubenecia I am sorry to announce that Yahoo has reached its maximum number of accounts two million. If you would like to keep your account for free send this to everyone on your list. This way we can know which accounts are being used and which accounts we can delete. Send this within 8 days and your account will remain free.
What About You???
Have a Nice Day.

I think it's not true. Yahoo won't send you a message like that. I have received many messages such as send this as many as you can or something bad will happen to you. I really don't believe it. And based on the email, I do believe it's just a hoax or something. Don't mind about it because yahoo won't close their messenger.

I really think this is another one of those hoaxes that would just like to spread on the net. I would suggest that you just have to stop spreading this message. If Yahoo would make their messenger to be paid they would not let their members pass it on. They have have the list of all their members they could send one email to everybody in their database and that's it. And they would not do a scare tactics that if you do not do this they will delete your account. I guess for a businessman making scare tactics would just make your customers go away than entice them to your business.

its maybe late but I've only got this message today from my ym. What I did was first- I browsed who's the yahoo president and then I've found out that Yahoo President is Susan Decker. Its a woman and so definitely not named Anna Rubenecia. Then, I browsed who's Anna Rubenecia and I've got no specific info about her. I've only got same link to this chain message.
so maybe next time, it will come out again and I hope I will never receive this one again.

that same message has been going around yahoo since yahoo first began.
Please ignore all the messages you get that say Yahoo is closing, Yahoo is starting to charge money, yahoo is running out of ID's. All of these are false.

Whenever you get 'suspicious' messages like this, you can always check it out at snopes.com, and they will tell you if it is a hoax, spam, or phising for unaware victims!

This is definitely a PHISHING SCAM and Yhaoo would never just send a letter that way. Sorry but Anna has NOTHING to do with Yahoo and she is definitely not the President
I have a program to hsre that "can tell if the email received is authentic or not"
Go to Iconix
http://www.iconix.com
This will install and when you open your email, the authentic emails will have the icon next to it. Another great program is a program for SPAM
this is a great way to sift out your mail-- it can be a "pain at first" but i went fro 2000 spam mails a week to 20, at the most, and I am a very heavy user of the internet, so I am sure that 9/10 of the spam I "asked for" lol. and this is a 10yr account for Yahoo
Go to this website - for "spam" - see in Yahoo PLUS, you get 500 spam filters and in regular mail you get 15-- this will do for you what yahoo plus has done.
http://www.boxbe.com
These are great programs! Take a look and I hope you choose to use them both or even just one.
Have a great day

I'm pretty sure it isn't true. Also, for a big company such as Yahoo!, as with most big companies, their presidents/ceo's don't usually send direct messages unless it's something really big like the entire Yahoo closing down. It should also show on the pop up window when you log in to Yahoo! messenger if something like that would ever happen. It's just some cheesy spam mail trying to make a name for itself. Just ignore it. YM is still free.

I'm pretty sure that is a scam. I've gotten messages almost identical to that about Yahoo! Messenger, AIM, and MSN instant messenger years and years ago. I ignored them thinking it was a scam, and sure enough I still have my instant messaging services and my account wasn't deleted.
Also, November 17th just happens to be my birthday!

If Yahoo will doing this, sure the news will come in the front page of the newspaper. Why I said that? It's because Yahoo is multibillion company and have many users in all around the world.

To be honest with you I wouldnt respond to that message..
it may just be a type of spam.
There is nothing on the Yahoo Messenger home page to suggest this is true.
I have seen similiar messages on other sites such as myspace and sure enough it is just spam..
Have a nice day to you too :)

Don't bother, not true. Yahoo will not close easily in that way.
