I Love you. Probably most electrifying group of words in this world! But what is love if your own definition? When anybody says you, I LOVE YOU, how do you react? Do you believe that I love you always indicate amorous love? Do you start to believe that the person wants to be the other half in your life and from that intention he/she has told love you? Don't you think that love can be of any kind, of any form?
When a classmate from opposite gender says love you, should your heart start beating thinking a amorous indication and should you think that you are in LOVE and you have got you life partner? Can't he/she say love you because you have done something useful for him/her? Can't this LOVE YOU be alternative words for THANK YOU?
What is the meaning of I LOVE YOU to you?

I love you does not always have to be romantic. I love my children, I loved my dog, I love my parents. I loved my mother in law, I love my brother and sister, I love my brother in law and my sister in laws, I love my friends. None of those are romantic relationships, but I still love and care for those people I want only good for them. I also believe that there are people in romantic relationships who say I Love You and don't mean it, because they are either confused about their feelings or because they think that saying those words will get them what they want from that person.
I don't know if saying I love can be interchangeable with Thank you. I guess you could say, "I love you for doing that for me." But I think that is more of a vocal expression than an actual declaration of love. Of course when someone does something really nice for you with out being asked it can show and prove and expression of love.

I love you is words that showing care to someone else. You can say to someone I love you either a friend, family or your partner anytime as long as you say it sincerely and true because LOVE has its different types. Love to a friend, family, and partner in life. So it depends how it was deliver saying i love you to the person who say it and to whom you are saying it.

I've definately heard "I LOVVEEEEEE You!" as an alternative to "thank you SO much!!!". I hear it so often so it doesn't mean so much, but its still something sweet and should be meant for real. I think depending on the way they say it makes the definition. Besides thankyou, sometimes its just to compliment you too. Like say if I told a great joke, some people would say "and this is why i love you" and such.
