It is the winter months and the weather outside is getting cold. People will start having a lot of illnesses, colds and flu.
I very seldom have a cold or the flu, hope I am not jinxing myself. Whever I have a cold of the flu, I take Theraflu and Alka-seltzer Plus Cold medicine, I like to drink 100 per cent orange juice and I like to stay in the bed and in a warm room. I also keep a box of Kleenex Tissue with aloe vera by my side. This is how I treat my colds.
When you are sick with a cold what is your routine?
What's your favorite cold medicine?

Oh yes the season has again arrive for our bodies to adapt to the changing climate from hot and humid to dry and cold season. Although I like the season were the winds are much more cooler than the rest of the year but what I hate is catching colds and worst flu. But with proper diet and supplements I could sometimes avoid getting one I hope I could survived it this year since I already catch cough so I guess I was not spared this year.

I make sure to get my flu shot as soon as possible. I use saline nasal spray. I never have the time or opportunity to stay in bed, so I just cruise along. I like to eat fresh pineapple and fresh juice if I have a scratchy throat. Horseradish, chicken soup, and other comfort foods. I will take the store brand of Mucinex as well. I will use a potpourri pot with tea tree and lavender oil in it. Vicks Vaporub on the bottoms of my feet. I really seldom get ill.

It is not very often that I get a cold but if I do, then the only thing that I will take for it is a couple of pain killers just to shift the yucky feeling of it. I have never bothered with all these rememdies that are available because they only ever do the same as painkillers. I use vicks on my chest to get rid of the stuffy nose.

Hey chevee! Thanks for the cold/flu tips! I can never
really decide what meds to take when I get the flu.
Nothing seems to really work. I have to be careful because
of my high blood pressure so I take Coricidan HBP. That's
usually the only medicine that I can take and it doesn't
work. I wonder if I can take Alka-seltzer Plus Cold. I'll
have to check with my doc before I get sick. He wanted
to give me the flu shot the other day and I wouldn't let
him because it hurts after. I always get the flu and I
get it bad. So I know I should take the shot but I hate
shots!

When i have a cold or flu, i make sure that i drink plenty and keep does up with cold medicine, i tend to take lemsip sachets to target the symptoms and sometimes ibuprofen if i am feeling achey with the flu! I keep myself warm too. I have only just got rid of a nasty cold though so hopefully that's me done for the year! xxx

I typically only get sick during the winter. In fact i feel a little something coming on right now. I'm starting to get a runny nose and i feel congested. I like to sweat my colds out.. I find it to be the best way to do it. You feel a little gross but it's nothing a shower can't fix. Also when my nose is all stuffy and i can't breathe. I take an old pot, put water in it and add a little bit of vicks vapor rub. I stick a towel over my head and breathe it all in until the mucus breaks. I dont like to take medication unless it something worse than a cold. I'll take stuff for the flu if i have it.

I rarely get colds either and I think I've had 2-3 flus in the last 20 years. But, when I get a cold, Dayquil or Nyquil seem to work best for me. However, since we started drinking Mona Vie (You can pm me for our website if you like), we RARELY ever even get a cold, and when we do, it's much milder than ever before.

Oh yea, I dread catching a cold because when I catch a cold they tend to last a long time and linger, and I never seem to have the right kind of cold medicine and I end up having to tough it out with food and Robitussin, when I'd rather have some theraflu or alcacelser cold and flu, but usually my medicine cabinet is empty because I dont buy many cold products and by the time I need them my cash is low so I end up just waiting it out so this year I hope that the flu bug skips me lol.

I havent had the flu in several years, or even a cold but last winter for some reason I got a terrible strept throat and it hurt so bad I could hardly swallow water. I sucked on ice, and gargled with warm salt water, finally gave up and went to my doctor who took one look, said strept throat and gave me a presription for a strong knock em out antibiotic. that cleared it up in a week. since then no colds or flu. knock on wood, and get a flu shot. if I get a cold I will take nyquil as it always helps me. the other stuff usually just makes me sicker.

Oh I have been experiencing runny nose for some time now, season is colder.. as for cold medicine, I don't take any, when I have one, I just drink lots of water and pineapple juice, with the kids, we do the same thing, we give them fruits rich in vitamin c and have them drink lots of water and fluids.
