I'm definitely going to go the handmade route again this year. I did it last year, but I think this year I shall do it on a larger scale. The only problem is when it comes to the kids, who don't want that kind of stuff, they want video games and books.
I do plan to buy whatever I can on Etsy though :)

We decided due to the size of our family to draw names among the adults this year.It will help the younger ones as well as the older not to have so many gifts to buy. Giftcards seem to be popular.
After all , the gifts are not the most important as our time together and the love we feel. For the kids, all will still do for them. My sister did this last year, and we included our parents this year in our family drawing so that they wouldn't have so many to buy for. We did a email of name, address, what I do NOT want for Christmas (some were funny answers) ,What I would like and put a $25-$20 limit on it. Everyone is going to bring a less than $5.00 item for a dirty Santa game. It can be homemade, or bought.
We are also doing a potluck meal so no one has all the expense or cleanup!

I am making most of this years Christmas gifts this year. I enjoy crafting so it works out well that I cant afford to do any shopping this year. I am even making some extra things just incase. I have a million hours of sewing to do, but I have some time to spare. I am really hoping that this year my kids will learn that Christmas does not have to cost a fortune.

I will probably make the same amount of handmade gifts for my family and friends as I did last year (which was quite a few!)My friends and family enjoy receiving handmade items, especially my sister-in-laws and my nieces.
I have done a few craft shows this fall, and it appears that people are looking for something different, maybe something a bit unique and they are attending craft shows to do some of their holiday shopping.
