My family and I absolutely do! LOL
I think most are familiar with this fruit, but for those who are not the durian fruit has a hard prickly rind and soft pulp. The edible flesh emits a distinctive odor even when the fruit is intact. Some regards this as fragrant (me and my family, for example), others as overpowering and offensice (like most of my friends, LOL).
The first time my dad brought home a durain fruit from his trip to Davao, I hated it too. I don't like the smell and didn't even want to try it. But after a while I did try it and now I love it. I guess it's an acquired taste and everyone acquires... LOL... ~

I don't! it smells so bad I can't even get near it. Some Filipinos are more creative when using durian, so I've been able to try durian chips, durian tarts, durian ice cream, durian pastillas, and durian cake. But that's about it. The smell and taste was still quite strong, but the dishes I've tried were all quite good. It's not something I love, but at least I was able to swallow it, hehe.

If you can eat those candies and ice cream - if you like the taste but not the smell you could try freezing the fruit first before you eat it. Freezing it, you would be able to eat the fruit because the smell isn't that strong anymore. But only if you want to. ~
