How to be a successful entreprenuer?

I've been a reading a lot this past few months about setting my own business. Many tips and techniques are given and many testimonies are presented. And now i am in the process of interviewing successful business man to know some of their secret formula. I know that not every business man are willing to share their secret for it may be copied by some future competitors. Is there any one here who is a successful business man who's willing to share some of his ups and downs while starting the business. I really wanted to know the real situation during those start-up year.I want to prefer myself for the real battle.
