what do you think about dating sites?

I guess it's the way forward with technology that we can start meeting people through the internet, I have joined numerous dating sites in the past and have met a few people through them, it's a gamble and you don't know who you are meeting, even when they have told you all about themselves over the internet or on their profile when you meet them mostly they have lied! Or they are the same person as the image on their profile, I gave it up in the end, it didn't work for me. I don't like blind dates and I certainly don't like people who waste my time by lying and not turning up when a date is fixed.
