If you wake up a bit too early, do you stay awake for fear of oversleeping?

This has happened to me this morning. I woke up almost an hour and 1/2 early. I am afraid that if I had gone back to sleep I would have overslept. I have to get my daughter up in a few minutes for school. That would have made her late. I guess Icould have set the alarm again, after my hubby left.

I have to get up straight away otherwise I will go back into an even deeper sleep and well and truly overlay! I did it once before and I had an hour before I needed to get up but it was too cold to get up so I thought I'd have an extra hour in bed but I kept my eyes open but I was too comfortable and warm and I drifted off, next thing I knew I had slept well past the hour in fact two hours had passed and I was well and truly late for work!!!! So now if I wake early I get up straight away, it's fatal to stay in bed once I have awoken!

Yes I have did that a lot of times. I work from 4:30pm, to 3:00am and have another Job I just started, so I am always afraid of over sleeping. I have to be at other Job at 10:00pm. so I try to get up at 9:00am to get there it is like 5 mins away from where I live. Have a great day!

It all depends on how soon I woke up and how long it is till I have to be up. 1/2 hour I would have gotten up. 1-1/2 I would have set the alarm and snuggled down for awhile. After all I need all the beauty sleep I can get..

When I wake up less than an hour before my alarm is set to go off, I usually just get up for the day. I just can't seem to settle down enough to fall back asleep, and find that when I do, I end up waking up more tired than if I'd just stayed up in the first place.

I set the alarm and get what sleep I can. I was up at 1am this morning. I didn't go back to sleep until 4. Lack of sleep here. It was about one in the morning when I was dreaming.. it was one of those odd dreams I have. A sort of music video of no song I've ever heard. I can't even remember it, now.
There were these college age girls who seemed to be gymnasts practiced on the balance beam except that they were using tight ropes. Really pretty interesting to see, even if entirely beyond credibility. (My dreams tend to get that way.)
In this dream, however, I was looking around for my wife and couldn't see her. I guess, for whatever odd reason, I missed her. I opened my eyes and there she was. This was 1 am and I was awake.
I would have tried to go back to sleep, except my wife rolled over to cuddle with me for a bit. She was sound asleep, so it was cute. She snored very lightly and seemed very affectionate at the time. So, I laid awake for a bit instead of moving to disturb her. This was, of course, until her dreams turned a bit dark and she started scratching at her arm pretty badly.
I woke her up and we talked about her nightmare for a bit. She went out to watch TV and forget her dream. (Paradoxically, she was probably watching horror movies as it is near to Halloween in an effort to forget her nightmare. I can't really explain the logic there.) I didn't really fall back asleep until sometime aroudn 4 when she came back to bed.
Sleepy.....

I will go on and get up if I have alot to get done for the day. I sleep if I am very tired and make sure to set the alarm clock.

I will usually go back to sleep, hubby wakes me up before he leaves, and the latest I need to be up is when he leaves. I'm not a morning person, so I snooze for every moment that I can.

If I wake up ahead of my alarm I tend to try and go back to sleep until the alarm goes off. BUt most of the time I end up getting up and starting my day. When I wake up earlier I can get more things done and start the tasks I need to do for the next day, or have some extra time to relax and read more of my Bible.

Yes. I usually stay awake then have to be panic because of oversleeping. I usually set my alarm earlier than the time I should have wake up, because I spent lots of time to get up from bed. It is so hard to get my eyes opened even I have already sober enough to start the activities that day. I am so lazy, you know

If I wake up a 1/2 early yes I would have to get up if I didn't I would over sleep. And when you are running late you mess up the whole day. It was wise to get on up.

No, I don't stay awake. I'll just go back to sleep but most of the time, I would end up oversleeping and I'll be so tired the whole day.
