I've read so many articles on this subject and am now probably more confused than ever.
Do most diets work temporarily?
What effect has exercise on your success?

I think a combination of excercise and diet is the answer to lose weight. Although I have not been following such a programme recently, before my wedding I went on a strict diet and did aerobics and swimming every week and I lost so much weight that people were really surprised. The diest entailed absolutely no sweets, minimum oily food etc - which is difficult but when you have a definite aim, it is easier to do.

Personally speaking for me diets have never worked, I guess I love my food too much and I would diet and then binge and put the weight back on again. However I go to the gym and do a good training session 5 times a week and the weight dropped off! Exercise is far easier for me because I don't have to worry about what I eat providing I don't overeat, it's about moderation and I burn off the excess calories and more at the gym. It not only helps my weight, but also my health, mental and physical and makes me feel less stressed and more relaxed, exercise has lots of benefits not just for losing weight, which of course is one of the best things for weight loss.
