Our current president is facing so many controversies and i know many of you Filipinos out there are not contented with how she is running the country plagued with corruption and instability because of opposition's main purpose..to bring her down the office so that they can take over...assuming you will be given the opportunity to be PRESIDENT for the day..what will be the very first thing that you will do?
Do you think you can make a difference to the people of this country?

I would stop all war and invest a lot of money on health and education. I will try to eliminate poverty in my country. I will try to ensure measures to help the weak. © ronaldinu 2008

Honestly, I have no dream of holding a government office, most especially the Presidency. But if given a chance, and for just a day, I would want to create a team of people who will specially take care of the poor. I want them to be fed, given shelter, clothing, for that day, if I can't give them all that permanently. I will not make promises because almost all past presidents, including the incumbent promised, but nothing happens...

what about finding them a permanent job don't you think it is rather a better thing to do?

I would find a way to make things a lot easier on Canadians and Americans who are married. Right now my husband is in Arizona, and we are having a heck of a time getting together because of border regulations and stuff like that. I wish that things were easier for us and that we dind't have to go through so much.

wow, i never saw this discussion.
i somehow like this because i just watched Tanging Ina Nyong Lahat and teh hardships Ina has to go through in her job as the new president is really hard.
first thing i would do i guess is to use the fund in feeding from the poor to the homeless. build a shelter for them and find an idea where they can be educated.
i can't imagine myself starving for a day so most probably, food supplies to those who are hungry. most especially the homeless ones.
good discussion, andak. =)

Well, i don't think i can really do anything significant as president if it will only be for one day... i used to like GMA as president because of her less talk more work policy... but it seem like she is getting very desperate in getting a lot of people to support her...
The main thing that really turned me off is when she granted clemency to Tehankee Jr... it is so obvious that her decision is politically tainted and motivated... since the Tehankee is still a powerful family here in our country...

Well if I could be the President for your just one day the first thing I would do is to ask the Congress to install me as the permanent President right on that day! Ha!ha!ha!ha! One day is too short to accomplish anything my friend! Ha!ha!ha! I have to have enough time to remove all those corrupt people from the government so please not just one day but give me at least 4 years okay!

those sitting in the office had more than 4 years already but all they do is worsen the situation and making themselves richer and fatter.

A day will not correct the many wrongs our current president has done to our country. The very seat of our government is unstable as our president is believed to be illegitimate due to the widespread belief of vote tampering in the presidential election 2004. What I would do with my one day in office is to make policies that would ensure an honest and informed election this coming 2010. This way all Filipinos will renew their hope that our new leaders will steer us to a better future as compared to the Present regime.
