Before I say anything on this subject, I want to be clear and let y'all know that I am in no way putting these religions down or condeming what they do or what they believe in or how they practice their religon. I am just curious about a few things is all. I know that the Amish I have seen (and there are quite a few here in my state)are devoted to their religion and use the horse and buggy and no electricity, etc. But the Mennonites that live here in my town drive cars, use electricity, use cell phones etc. I know they have a little more freedom than the Amish, but if they utilize all the modern conveniences, why can't their children go to our public schools? Or yet, pay taxes? We had a Mennoite come into our tax office last year with a voucher from his church saying he did not have to pay any taxes. I realize they come from deep religious roots, and I respect that but am just wondering. Any incites on this subject?

I don;t really hear abut that kind of religion in my place but.. not paying taxes is really against the law of the land and the law of God/ In the Bible god Says, give it to Cesar what is due to him and gibe it to God what is due to God. meaning we have to honor the law of the land and the law of God. We will give the share that we suppose to give to the church and we should also give our obligation to the government.
Christians are following this principles. I have no idea if the religion you mean is Christian or not but this is my opinion about this.
