Why hate joey barton he has done his time in prison and it was only for assault on a team-mate and remember it wasnt murder he went to prison for and a similar incident happened in a rugby training session with London wasps the other week and there was a punch up with danny cipriani and josh lewsey and it was just swept under the carpet..So why give him so much hassle???
Your thoughts on this people??

I think the problem with Joey Barton is the number of times he has got himself involved in such brawls. Also he being a public celebrity and also having played for England, he becomes a major embarrassment for club and country. Given his abysmal disciplinary record, each manager simply asks his players to haggle him a bit and then he goes over the moon and sees a red and is out. In that manner he is a big drag on any manager who manages him.
That to me is the major problem with Joey Barton.
Cheers!

It wasn't just a team-mate. He's beat up members of the public too!

I guess you have to blame the English media for sensationalism. Jailed violent man who hits people playing in England's favorite ball game, great content for the media. Apart from the exaggerations from the media and some ranting from rival fans, this issue isn't a big deal. He has received his punishment for his act, and so far, he looked a changed man. So in the meantime, we should let his football do the talking.
Football has been an avenue for people who have lost their way in their teens, to offer them a second chance in their life. Most will stand no chance making a living in such a competitive world. Take a look at Singapore striker Noh Alam Shah. He has mentioned that without soccer, he would have continued to go astray in life.
Of course, I am sure he is aware that one more outburst and he will be gone in football.
