Telephone has come to us as a great way of communicating. We can talk to other people with it while they are long distance away. Now cellphone has flooded the market. Almost everybody in this time owns a cellphone. But this useful gadget is being misused as well.
Specially the teenage and younger boys and girls are talking over cellphone hours after hours. This is a dangerous practice. Scientists have warned that talking over cellphone for a long time is harmful for hour ears and brain. When the cellphone is online, a short radiation keeps emitting from it and hits our brain. So in the long run the brain may be damaged.
Also talking over phone for a long time may impair your eardrum. And in the long run your listening power may lessen. For this I have stopped talking for a long time over cellphone. What about yours?

Yes, sometimes I do talk to cellphone for a long time. My husband is calling me and sometimes we talk on the phone for 1 hour. He is far away from me right now so we better keep in touch and talk more often.

I used to talk on a cellphone for a long duration. The longest is about ten hours until I slept and woke up again and the line is still there. That used to happen a long time ago. Now, I just talk on the phone for a short duration. The longest that I can go is about 40 minutes to 1 hour. That only happens if I talked to my mom. If not, it just gonna take about two to five minutes. I prefer text messaging since I can do this whenever I can although I am in a classroom (this is unethical, but I do this sometimes for important messages). Besides text messaging, I prefer to talk through online calls such as Yahoo Messenger and Gtalk. Besides they are more health friendly, they are also free of charge. So, for all of you out there who have not try using the internet calls, do try them and you will be amazed with the call quality which sometimes is way better than the phone calls quality. =)

Heck, I just don't like talking over the phone and cell for long. I use them only for a message or to pass on information. If someone is far away, then I might talk for five minutes. Then just get onto the net and chat. Its safer and cheaper. So why not? I always prefer talking to people face to face.

On average i talk for around 1 hour a day. I hope its not a long amount of time. When i had first taken my cellphone connection i used to talk for longer hours. I used to talk in excess of 3hours a day. But then, the phone bills kept rising. So, i had to check my outgoings and bring it down to the barely necessary calls. Now, i don't just chat over the phone and hence my phone usage too has become less.

I agree telephones are a great way of communicating and they allow us to stay in touch with friends or relatives who might live great distances away without having to send letters, and cell phones are definitely sweeping the nation and it seems that everyone is carrying a cell phone nowadays, and people are always either talking to someone on their cell phone,or they are texting someone on their cell phone, and I agree it seems teenagers are especially bad about spending too much time on the cell phone, and yeah there is radiation that is emitted from a cell phone that can harm you if you use a cell phone to often, and too much use of a cell phone can harm your eardrums and impair your hearing,I have never talked for long on a cell phone, right now me and my fiance do not have a cell phone because ours got run over by a big truck,so we either use my mom or dads phone depending on who is here, and we never talk on the cell phone long, just long enough to call whoever we need to call,or to tell whoever calls what they want to know.

I don't neccesarily talk over my cellphone for a long period of time but I only use my cellphone. At my house we originally had a house phone but my husband and I soon realized that there was no point because we didn't even know our house phone number, so we decided to just cut it off. We were spending $50 a month on something we didn't even use. The max amount of time that I use my cellphone is 30 minutes a day and that's usually when I call my mom or someone I haven't talked to in awhile.I also don't talk with the phone next to my ear very often, I usally put it on speaker when I am in the car and strap it to my chest via seatbelt. I have to admit that I am a serial texter and emailer because of my PDA.

It is very rare that I talked very long on my cell.
But let me remind you that some experts thought television was bad for one's health along with the microwave and I have yet to see any evidence that what they are saying about the cell phone is truth.

I try not to talk over the cellphone for a long time. I usually have an average of 6 to 9 minutes per call, the maximum with my boyfriend and lesser with others or depending on the need for a call. I am just concerned about the harm that it will affect me and the person on the other line. I have heard a lot of things like that, the radiation it emits and its effects to the brain. Others say that even using a headphone while making a call isn't also safe. So I think, just to be safe, our calls must always be short, clear and specific.
